Description
The brewery started with the first brews in 1995 and brought the first beers to the market in 1999. The brewers work according to traditional brewing methods to produce distinctive beers from the noble raw materials of barley malt, hops, water and yeast. The quality of the products is guaranteed by modern equipment in constant evolution and systematic analyzes of every brew in the laboratories of the Abbey Notre Dame d'Orval.

Bottled at Pressklubben, Stockholm. Cloudy brownish amber, brief head. Fruity nose with some calvados. Dryish with full body. Cidery with har roasted grainy malt. Honey and cognac, slight notes of caramel. Really bitter finish with chalk, wood chips and peppery heat.

Hazy pale yellow colour, slight white head. Aroma of hops, malts, light candy, somewhat sweet. Quite light flavour, sweet malts, light sour touch. Quite refreshing. Fresh malty, light bitter finish.

(Draught at Chez Moeder Lambic Saint-Gilles, Brussels, 18 July 2012) Pale golden colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, malty nose with grainy malt, citrus and grass. Malty taste with notes of grainy malt, grass, hay, lemon and a dry finish with a fresh, citric, grassy bitterness. Medium body, quite dry. Nice and tasty saison.

(Bottle, 0.75 l, at One Pint Pub, 20120804) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had roasted malts, liquorice and grass. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were roasted malts, liquorice, grass, burnt malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was roasty and bitter. A very tasty mild stout.

Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were grain, honey, fruitiness, resin, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was grainy, hoppy and bitter. A very nice beer with low ABV.

(Bottle, 0.75 l - BBE 08/2012, at One Pint Pub, shared with brunnsbe, 20120725) The beer poured pale golden and hazy. Its heaf was medium sized and white. Aroma had spices, fruitiness and malts. Palate was medium bodied with quite high carbonation. Flavours were hops, grass, spices, malts, fruitiness and bitterness. Aftertaste was grassy and bitter. A saison that had more pils characteristics than the ones of a saison.

Black colour, firm tan head. Aroma of chocolate, caramel, bitter coffee and roasted malts. Light bitter coffee flavour, bitter roasted malts, mocha, loads of coffee. Quite creamy, low carbonation. Coffee finish.
Rather nice, well made beer.
