O:7.55 V:4.417 G:8.26 C:4.0 G:15.0 T:39.227

(750ml bottle from BG18e, Quebec City) Notes from memory as a computer crash ate them. Pours clear deep orangish-pink with a tight and reviving white cap and spotty lace. Aroma is punchy raspberry, mostly fresh-crushed fruit with a little cooked berry and dash of fruit vinegar, lemon and grapefruit pulp lactic acidity, mulchy sort of flora, raspberry skin earthy depth, a bit of drying wood. Flavour is quite acidic off the top, fresh raspberry acidity with lactic lemon and grapefruit juice, dash of acetic acid, some citrus peels, slightly leathery Brett character without a lot of obvious funk, a little berry pip astringency, light drying wood, finish is long and still quite acidic raspberry and grapefruit with some fruit vinegar. Light bodied with very filling but fine bottle-conditioned carbonation. Nice raspberry wild, acidic but not undrinkably so. The spontaneous component doesn't have the complexity of a lambic but enjoyable all the same.
A hazed yellow DIPA with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, sweet fruity biscuit malt with grassy resinous hops, light mineral notes, OK. In mouth, sweet fruity malt with pink grapefruit, tropical fruit, light resinous notes, light coconut, pleasant. On tap at L'autre oeil.

(375ml waxed bottle from the BG18e brewpub) Pours black with a tiny ring of brownish bubbles, no head or lace. Aroma is rich earthy slightly nutty coffee (beans and brewed) mixed with milk and dark chocolate bars, well-integrated and sweetish bourbon, floral vanilla, underlying dark sugar/chocolate malt core that supports the adjuncts well, no real roast from the malt detectable and lets the coffee/cacao handle that. Flavour follows the nose nicely, rich brewed earthy coffee and dark chocolate that contribute a lot of flavour without much bitterness, deep caramelized sugar, smooth bourbon with well-integrated wood and a maple-like accent, vanilla is floral and fits with the barrel, moderately sweet for style with no real roast acidity and lactose in the background, long coffee/chocolate finish with smooth bourbon input. Medium-bodied, oily, very softly carbonated. Excellent adjunct stout that doesn't drop too far into the pastry realm, slightly thicker body would have been nice but the brewing is otherwise top-notch.
