Today is a national holiday in Quebec so I figured I’d drink something from my home province and as it is very sunny I chose this sour beer: Brasserie Generale Pitayana 5.8% Kettle Sour with Pineapple and Red Pitaya Fruits Purple-red with a fizzy pink head that brings to mind a tropical cocktail more than a beer. Sour lactic slight acidic pitaya fruity aroma, I get nothing from the pineapples. The taste is somewhat tart and acidic a touch tropical, a year old so probably not quite what it was meant to be but this held up way better than that Vrooden Boysenberry beer.

Dark brown, thin head. On the nose, this has a deep dark fruit note, lots of barrel, definitely some of that raw blue agave liquor. On the palate, lots of brown sugar sweetness, a bit of tequila, touch of tannin, and some nice molasses notes. Solid.

500mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out gentle tequila barrels upfront, with medium roast, and a hint of earthiness. Flavour is very laid back, with gentle tequila, subtly sweet roasted malt, molasses, and brown sugar. A bit boozy, but it's quite tasteful. Finishes subtly sweet and barrel-heavy (without noticeable tequila). This is great.
