12 ounce can into pint glass, canned on 7/14/2017. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy medium golden/amber color with a 2 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with amazing retention, that reduces to a large cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper, pine, cracker, biscuit, white bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper, pine, cracker, biscuit, white bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper, pine, cracker, biscuit, white bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/sticky, and slightly resinous balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.6%. Overall this is an excellent American pale ale! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth and refreshing to drink with the modestly bitter/drying finish. Very vibrant, juicy, and lightly dank hops; perfectly balancing pale malt backbone, with no residual sweetness. Never overly aggressive. A really enjoyable offering, and spot on style example. Great showcase of Falconer's Flight hops.

Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/pine hops, fruity yeast, and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, bready/grainy/sticky, and lightly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 7%. Overall this is a delicious American pale wheat/IPA. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/pine hops, fruity yeast, and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the modestly bitter/drying finish. Nicely vibrant and dank on hops. Tastes like a classic C hopped IPA with balanced pale/wheat malts, and American wheat yeast for added fruity character. A very enjoyable, and pretty unique offering.

Aromas of lemon, peach, pear, apple, honey, wheat, cracker, biscuit, white bread dough, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity yeast, honey, bready malt, and light earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of big lemon, peach, pear, apple, honey, wheat, cracker, biscuit, white bread dough, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, peach, pear, apple, honey, wheat, cracker, biscuit, white bread dough, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity yeast, honey, bready malt, and light earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero astringent hop flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, fairly crisp, and lightly sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.4%. Overall this is a delicious American blonde ale! All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity yeast, honey, bready malt, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink with the mildly bitter/drying finish. Very spot on stuff for the style. Nice rich malt flavors, balancing hops, and a characterful yeast profile that is well restrained. A very enjoyable offering.

All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/pine hops and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the modestly bitter/drying finish. Very Midwest feeling IPA all around, never overly aggressive. Very juicy, vibrant, and lightly dank hops; with a balancing bready malt body, and no residual sweetness. A very enjoyable offering.

Purchased at Bottles & Cans in Chicago, IL; enjoyed at home on Memorial Day on a very nice and sunny afternoon. Appearance is a cloudy golden amber with a robust white frothy head. Aroma of light hops, oats, light lemon, smell is light but nice. Taste is pretty good, malty for an IPA, filling, not too bitter.

22 oz. bomber sent for review. I get a light spicy smell after popping the cap. Not so much cinnamon, more of a general spice, a bit more prominent than in an Anchor Our Special. The color is a ruby red to brown, with a thin layer of foam that persists after several minutes. The taste is rather smooth. There’s kind of an English Old Ale base, but not very alcoholic at first. A lot of malt backs the spice up. Would not know much about the bay leaf: that’s the thing we have to take out after cooking with it. But it is a nice Christmas spice ale, only slightly similar to pumpkin pie spice. I also get a side note of red wine at the sides of my mouth. This is very much a beer for this holiday season, as I suspect it might get a phenolic edge if it ages too long, the bane of malty beers. So buy enough for this year, and open it along with your main course.

Bottle during RBWG GT. Pours a cloudy brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is wood, candy sugar, raisin, caramel. Medium body, caramel, strong whiskey, wood, nice sweetness, good.

Bottle thanks to Brandon. Pours a clear copper with small off white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is strong bourbon, wood, vanilla. Medium mouth, bourbon, vanilla, candy sugar, very sweet, wood, lots of heat, very nice.

Enjoyed on tap at Montrose Saloon in Chicago, IL while hanging out with friends on their fantastic patio. I didn’t take tasting notes while trying this one, but man was this one good. Appearance was dark brown with a modest white head. Great balance of coffee and malt, not as coffee-forward as Surly Coffee Bender but it does give it a run for its money and in a way is more balanced. Would have again!
