Foamy off white head on a pale copper coloured body. Malt & hops aroma - old school. Medium bodied, smooth with a lively back. Caramel, biscuit, malt & tea tastes with lightly hopped bitter finish. Like a 1970s Bitter - Nice one.

[Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading.] An amber pour with a tight white head; fruity aroma; malty taste with some berries; and a biscuity finish with a light fruity bitterness. A so-so Christmas ale.

33cl bottle from Beers of Europe: BBE February 2027, drank at home on 21st November 2024. Clean and clear old gold body, wispy off-white topping. Pleasant hop front with a sweet malty overtone, boozy but it became a little too sweet and 'metallic twangy' towards the finish. Really enjoyed the first few sips, fell away to being a headache inspired juice soon after.

Creamy off white head on a chestnut coloured body. Malt, fruity & grain aroma. Medium to thin bodied, lightly carbonated & clean on the back. Treacle, roasted, burnt & malt tastes with grainy citrussy finish. Probably way better on Cask.

12th November 2024
Clear deep amber beer, small bubbly pale tan head. Light palate, semi dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Thin but sweet malts, sweet caramel and cream. Sweet ripe fruits turning to sweet berry fruits on the back end, both red and dark berries. A light alcohol spicy nip. More caramel and berry fruits on the light crisp finish. I think I am supposed to turn my nose up at this? Dunno! All I care about is what does it taste like and is it drinkable. The answers to those questions here are, alright and yes.
