Aroma of roasted malts, oak, bourbon, hint of vanilla, coffee, booze, some chocolate. Flavour is moderate sweet and slightly acidic, with a moderate roasty bitter finish. Curious brew, interesting, but I’m not exactly sure what to make of it.

2009 bottle. Aroma of malt, caramel, ripe fruits, peach, apricot, resin, aged hops. Flavour is medium sweet with a moderate bitter finish. After 6 years this Double IPA has turned into a nice Barley Wine indeed.

Voornamelijk suikerzoet, er us zoals altijd bespaard op de duurdere ingrediënten, daardoor vrij kansloze poging, 13 in een dozijn hobbybrouwer met een overschot aan suiker maakt dit ook.

Fles thuis geprobeerd met Roelzie. Het is een pikzwart bier met een volle bruine schuimkraag. Het heeft een aroma van rook, turf en een hint ham. De smaak is asbak en drop.

Aroma of dark malt, caramel, smoked ham, leather, subtle chili peppers, dark fruits, hint of dark chocolate. Flavour is moderate sweet with a light bitter finish. Pretty damn good smoked ham and subtle chili beer, thick body and great balance. Absolutely delicious.
