500ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, May 24. Thanks Jeremy for this. Relatively clear amber, good off-white head. Big spiciness at play here.. very spicy, very christmassy in a distinctly Scottish fashion .. clootie dumpling indeed. Bit thin unfortunately, could be maltier. Decent overall.

Cask ale at Barrel Vault, half pint shared with Finn. Wetherspoon Beer Festival, March 24. Bubbly, white head leaving spotty lacing behind, clear warm golden body. Lemony hops on the nose, hints of grain. Quite well blended taste of herbal hops, hints of biscuit, and mild brown malts. Mid-dry ending with a bittersweet impact. Nice, (London, 16.03.2024).

Can from Marshall's farm shop. It pours clear deep reddish brown with a decent, fluffy white head. The aroma is rich, sappy, resinous, varnished wood, spicy, brown bread, nuttiness avd some fruit cake. The taste is firmly dry, nice decent hit of bitterness which builds and lingers, rather spicy, nutty, brown bread, toasted fruit cake, resinous, sappy, varnished wood, hint of grass and floral accents with a drying, bitter spicy finish. Medium body and moderate, massaging carbonation. Rather enjoyable stuff.

The aroma is fresh, fragrant, floral, lemon peel, lemon curd, crunchy biscuit, custard creams and toasted grain. The taste is crispy, dry, clean, snappy, bitter kick, fragrant, floral, waxy citrus peel, splash of lemonade, slightly soapy, straw, grass, toasty grain and biscuit with a drying finish. Light to medium body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. Fresh and bitter. Decent quencher.
