Bottle from Beers of Europe. Clear mahogany with small off-white head. Aroma of malts, caramel, berries, vanilla. Taste is caramel malts and spice, some fruitiness in the middle, quite dry, toasty, citrus and grassy bitterness. Light to medium bodied. Very flavoursome bitter.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours black with small tanned head. Moreish aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, caramel, some smoke. Taste of chocolate, coffee, slightly dry, light smoke and peat finish. Light to medium bodied but gives a refreshing edge to some of the richer flavours. Excellent light ABV stout.

Bottle from Beers of Europe, online. Pours a murky amber-brown, with small beige head. Aroma is sweet and boozy with notes of sherry, fruitcake, oak, toffee. Taste is malty with caramel and toffee, sherry, wood, dried fruits, booze. Medium to full bodied Heady stuff, I like it.

Handpull cask at the Fat Cat, Norwich. Lightish yellow gold, very hazy with a loose white head. Some lemon cream aroma, light ground coriander. Tastes fairly terrible. Sourish and bitter with a slightly acrid note. Lingering sourness. Light body, no carbonation. No. And this is one of the best cask beer pubs in England so it ain't the condition.

cask at ryries ...dark black ...thin tan lacing ..soft sweet caramel toffee fruit nose ..soft sweet nutty caramel toffee chocolate roast malts ...Light woody bitter...a nice solid cast porter ...very quaffable
