Description
The former name was brewery De Brouwketel, which was in operation at the current location at least from 1706 onwards. In 1884 the brewery became the property of the Duysters family. In 1968 the company was transformed into Duysters NV (limited liability company) which was active as a brewery until 1973.
The Loterbol brewpub started in 1995 in a renovated part of the brewery from the 18th century. in 2002 brewing started in the old brewery building of 1908. Both locations are still used for brewing.

Bottle. Hazy golden with almost no head. This reminded a lot of a lambic, but not as sour. Lemon, fruit, some leather and wood. Refreshing and easy t drink. 11% alcohol, I thought it was like 5%.

33 cl. bottle @ home. Procured from Willems. BBF 12/2014. Murky smashed strawberry fox brown with an off-white head. Muted nose, dark red fruits, malts, brown sugar, liquorish, leaves, sticky dark fruits & nuts. Taste is sweet liquorish, red fruits, figs, malts, brown sugar, cacao, light chocolate, slight bitter herbs & overripe red fruits, tobacco + strawberries in the finish, hazelnuts, creamy mocha & candy. Quite creamy body. Lovely surprise here, very yummy.

75 cl. bottle sampled @ RBESG 2013. 2010 Vintage. Pours dark raspberry red with a pinkish head. Nose is very full of fruits, more cherry than kriek, light raspberry, almost cloying, very jam-like. Taste is blend of cherries & kriek, less tang than I am used of the kiek (the fruit), light hint of iron (maybe the age), touch thin but very easy to drink, oodles of fruit, somewhat fruit sweety with a jam impression, kriek pits in there, light berries in s pices in the finish. Fine carb. very easy to drink. Would have been superb with some sourness but as this stands this is pretty much what a fruit beer should be, fruits & not chemical nonsense. Great stuff. ///// Shared another 75 cl. bottle @ RBBSG II, total gusher & not bad but not as good as the firt time around, bit too metallic & thin, same vintage, keeping previous score for now

Bottled @ RBESG 2013 Grand Tasting. Dark reddish color, short head. Aroma of loads of cherries and cherry pits, marzipan. Soft sourness, quite fruity. Got some bitterness as well, but mostly lots of fruity sweetness. Little too much carbonation. Lots of fruit, could have used a bit more sourness.
