Bottle @ Goat Major, Cardiff. Reddish brown, not a lot of head but plentiful carbonation. Smells of caramel, navy rum and rotgut whiskey. Taste is unsurprisingly sweet with a caramel cloyingness from start to finish. Tickly mouthfeel. If this is a Dubbel, I’m a lungfish. Enjoyable enough on its own terms. But I will never, ever, ever have this again.

Hand-pulled half-pint at The Crown Inn, Oakengates on 1st May 2014, one of thirty four hand-pulls available at their beer festival. Red hue to this amber brew, a beige head sat on top. Dry and Rye with something else in the mix: I thought it different and interesting, the guy next to me hated it! Mild citrus notes gave it a extra twist and overall it pleased me, the 5% ABV being well hidden by the flavours and dryness.

330ml bottle. Clear golden colour with small frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Cautious wheaty aroma, hints of coriander and orange zest, a spicy yeasty touch. Taste is minimally sweet wheaty, notes of orange, a touch of coriander, vague hoppy overtones; flat carbonation, slightly insipid. Nice taste, weaknesses concerning the "artistic score".
