Bottled. An amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, brettanomyces, and wood. The flavor is sweet with notes of vinegar, alcohol, wood, and brettanomyces, leading to a tart finish.

Bottle at RBESG Grand Tasting, held at Dean Swift. Dark brown color. Tangy citrus and vinegar nose. Huge sour vinegar flavor, with something like spoiled milk. Way too acetic and nasty.

Bottle @ Trinity. Deep purple appearance with a purple cream head. Acidic, vinegar sour, mild nutty, dark cherry, mildly funky nose. Acetic puckering sourness with some funk, lots of sour cherries in the flavor. Excellent sourness that’s not overpowering like some of their others.

750 ml waxed and capped bottle sent to me by alagnak. Pour is a cloudy yellow orange with a fizzy white head that falls quick. Nice un-filtered look. Aroma is big Brett right away, brightly acidic along with an earthy mineral dryness leading to leather. Floral and perfume come out after the nose opens. Taste is the dry leather Brett and lavender floral - a ton of dry dirt in the finish. Strong Brett character especially in the long aftertaste. Palate is on the thin side of medium, very drying. Nice Brett Saison, worked well with pizza. Thanks for sending this my way Chris.

This bottle is about 2 years old - I have been sitting on for reasons unknown - I have tried to trade it at least twice, and ever time the trade falls through - I have planned to share it with people on several occasions, but every time I considered it, the very people I was intending to share it with somehow magically sample a bottle of it somewhere else - the message is clear: "just drink the fucking beer, asshole" - and so, here we go - pour is effervescent, clear gold - pours with a loud gush, kicking up a huge head, but this completely dissipates in less than a minute - smells like lemon, lacto, horse blanket, leather, band-aid - underneath this, however, is some very subtle sweetness and notes of lavender - the taste is disappointingly mild compared to the aroma - tastes like a weak, lightly bretty Berliner Weisse, or a watered down Brett saison - mild acidity - a touch of honey and lavender - subtle touches of Brett funkiness, citrus - a light bit of leather - there is quite a bit here, but it is all too understated, bordering on downright bland - I don’t dislike it, it’s just watery and weak - I am fine with subtle, but not when it is so subtle that it makes the experience uninteresting and forgettable.

Medium amber saison - fairly sweet, with quite a bit of vanilla and roasted nut character - a bit of earthy spices and toasted grains - dries out a bit through the middle, adding some twiggy, woody character - vanilla and hazelnut lasts through the finish - reminds me of Black Fox Sonnambulance, only slightly better executed - okay.
