Description
Pretty Things Beer & Ale Project began on a shoestring budget in 2008. We exist to allow 20 year professional brewer Dann Paquette to make an honest living while giving his imagination free reign. We brew our beers in other people's breweries because we can't afford our own. We enjoy the up-at-dawn lifestyle and the freedom to brew beers of our own imagining. We brew all our beers ourselves: Dann brews and formulates, Martha mills in. We dream up our beers together, inspired by Europe, by history, and by BEER and all it can be. We are based in Somerville, but brew mostly in Westport, MA, hence the early mornings. Cheers!

Bomber from Bine & Vine. Pours gold with a white head. Aroma is moderate pale stone fruit and some lightly toasty malt. Med body or almost. Flavor is slightly toasty malt, pale stone fruit, possibly a touch of citrus. Maybe even a touch of earthiness. It’s dry and fairly bitter. I kept it in a frig, but maybe the citrus hop aspects went down over a few months. Still a nice drink tho.

Thanks to Gender! Bottle into a tulip showing well filtered orange caramel brown with sparse white foam. The nose shows a lot of sweet caramel malts. The palate is light bodied and well carbonated. Flavors of sweet caramel malts and a light unharmonious bitterness. Not exactly a saison.

Bottle shared at the chriso and Ruth pre GBBF Shindig 2016 - London. Day 1. Pours black-brown with a creamy, tan head. The nose holds raisins, chocolate, toasted toffee and mellow smoked malts. Medium sweet flavour with notes of burnt sugars, scorched earth, brownies, toffee, charred caramel. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet on the finish, with further cocoa, mild smoke. Sweet and tasty.

The great ChrisO pre GBBF gathering. Opaque dark brown beer, good tan head. Palate is airy, semi dry and has decent fine carbonation. Rich dark malts, good dark chocolate. A sourish tang to the malt develops. Mild spice. Smoke? Pretty mellow. Rich and tasty but could do without the strong tang.
