Cask, gravity at Brew Wharf, Borough, London 07.01.12 courtesy of Ang, many thanks Ang Pours hazy amber with a wispy head. The cascade hops burst through well and leave their mark throughout this beer, nice pine thing going on here. There is also a lovely balance of bittersweetness, finish is edging towards dryness, very nice beer. A7 A3 T8 P4 Ov14 3.6

Cask at Brew Wharf that we tried some from on brewing day with Ang & Thomas Fri 6th Jan 2012 Roasty and oaky from the off with an abundance of chocolate and some smooth coffee also lingering liquorice. I’m not getting too much spiciness, which is a good thing as so many Christmas beers are overly spiced, ’less is more’ as they say and I think that Ang has got the spicing spot on here. Dry at finish with good bitterness. Pours dark brown with a beige head. Nice beer! A6 A4 T8 P4 Ov14 3.6

At the brew pub. Bright clear gold beer, residual white head. Smooth low carbonation palate. Hops not so aggressive here. Subtle fruit medley that is hard to pin down but includes peach and a whisper of grape. Finishes smooth and semi dry with hop bitterness starting to kick in. Nice beer but could have been bolder.

At the brew pub. Very light haze on this gold beer. Good head, slightly off white. Light palate, a little crisp and a little dry. Moderately aggressive bitterness in the hops. A little orange and a trace of mango from the Galaxy. Finishes with bitter marmalade and a lingering bitter aftertaste. Clean and refreshing but a little more hop fruit would have really elevated it.

At the Brew Wharf - courtesy of Ang - cheers mate! This is the Christmas Edition of this beer as stated by Angelo himself. In otherwords this edition is oaked and with vanilla pods and cinnamon. Opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Smooth semi dry palate. Smooth dark malt with nicely judged vanilla. The cinnamon is subtler. Whispers of dark fruits. Finishes with a little coffee and some bitterness in the aftertaste. Decent.

Cask at The Brew Wharf, London. Pours clear, orange-brown with a foamy, white head. Holds a lovely, thick pine hop aroma. Heavy, sticky bitterness to the flavor, some wood, huge pine and grass character, light toasty malts. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sticky, slightly dry and woody finish. Big resin notes, pine, light ham, toast, wood. Has a very raw hop character overall. A nice beer, especially if you love pure hops.
