Cask handpull at Westgate, JDW, Canterbury during Spoons Mass Tasting. Copper gold with a disappearing head. Doesn’t look in very good nick. It’s a little on the rubbery side to be honest. I’ve visited the brewery and always liked their beers and have a soft spot for them. It’s a bitter with some ok malts, some fruit, a bit cereally on the flavour. But there is this rubber thing going on that makes it less than attractive. Shame as the rest of the beer is pretty solid. Some drying hop on end. Could be a very good bitter if the rubber wasn’t there.

Cask (South Western Arms, Southampton) - Copper coloured. Fruity aroma with Christmas cake and raisins. Fruity taste with raisins, plums and Christmas cake. It’s rather rich and I don’t think I’d be able to drink too much of it.
