Description
In 1981, Peter Mauldon, the great grandson of Anna Maria decided to re-establish the family tradition and start a brewery in Sudbury once again. Peter had been too young to be involved in the original family business and had previously pursued a career with Messrs. Watney where he progressed to Head Brewer at the company’s large Mortlake Brewery.

Bottled. A dark golden beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of straw, elderflower, and some toffee. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, straw, elderflowers, and toffee.

50 cL bottle, corutesy of Papsoe. Pours clear and golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma is mild fruity and slight cornish. Crisp fruity and mild citrusy. Bitter and citrusy finish.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of madmitch76. Pours a clear deep golden with a smallish off-white head. Some fruits in the nose - and British hops. Medium body, fruit and malt with a honey whiff. Dry and somewhat unrefined hops in the finish. 261010

From cask at Market porter. Pours clear and golden orange with a fully gone head. Aroma is sweet malty and sligh breadish. Sweet caramelish malty and quite fruity and bitter. Dry and malty finish.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol 18/09/10. Near black with a slight, tan head. Roasted malt and dark chocolate aroma. Flavour had an ashy edge, with more chocolate and a touch of fruity sweetness, before a dry finish. Enjoyable.

Cask (Waterloo Arms, Southampton) - Amber in colour. malty aroma with a hint of fruit. Malty, hoppy and fruity taste with notes of dried fruit.

Bottled (bought from GBBF). Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is wood, some mild floral notes as well as earth and some mild rubbery notes. Flavour is mildly rubbery, some floral notes and mild earthyness. Quite dull.

15th April 2010. Clear gold - amber beer. Clean white foamy head. Dry palate - a little crisp. Orange hops, somewhat marmalade like. A trace of banana. Finishes crisp with a dash of sweet orange.

Cask @ Bon Accord. Clear golden colour, white head. Aroma is caramel malts, citrus, a bit spicy. Flavour is dry biscuit, citrus, spicy. Dry finish. Very well drinkable.
