Cask at the Crosse Keys, JDW. Golden pour withb a foamy, white head. Sharp, baked malts on the nose. Lightly sweet flavor, oddly smokey, lightly, with hints of ham and band-aids. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Modestly sweet finish, some bread and crisp malts, faint bitterness. I can dig it.

[Cask at Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading] Black with a thin beige head. Sumptuous chocolate and fruit aroma. Fresh blackberries very evident at first before blackberry leaf and nettle takes over, leading to a particularly dry finish. A little thin and not as good at the end as at the start, but still enjoyable and unusual.

Cask at the Willow Walk (JDW), Victoria. Deep ruby red in colour with a compact oatmeal head; aroma of fresh blackberries; sweet blackberry flavours to start then switching to coffee and deeply roasted malts; then a dry fruity finish. A pretty good fruit porter, although I prefer damson or blackcurrant.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol 30/03/2011. Almost back with a slight tan head. Blackcurrant fruit aroma with a touch of roasted malts. Blackcurrants in the flavour were too sweet and dominated everything else. A third of a pint was quite enough.

Cask handpull at Spoons Victoria Station. Very dark brown colour with lasting beige. Oh dear this tastes of Ribena. Not good in any way shape ir form. Very thin in mouth. Some burnt blackberry notes on finish. Shame as I like this brewery but very thin stuff.

Cask at the Crosse Keys, JDW. Pours rewd-brown with a filmy, tan head. The nose is an intense blend of blackberry and chocolate syrup. Flavor is alright, plenty of dark malts, bit of roast, blackberries in the background, floral notes, with some faint citrus bitterness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes sweet, subtly dry, with a nice malt roast, yet more blackberry, cocoa and coffee beans, some citrus hops in the throat. Actually a pretty good beer.

From cask at Willow Walk. Pours pitch black with a small tan head. Aroma is distinct blackberry citric fruity and with a dark roasted malt base swept through. Subdued citric, berry fruity and dark roasted malty. Smooth and lingering fruity into a medium dry finish.

A very light ale, slighty fruity with quite a bitterish hop finish. Just a whisper of smoke. Inoffensive and easy to drink.

Clear goldy brown beer. Quite flat. Complex fruit notes - pear and a hint of bitter orange. Tea like malt. Dry pearish finish!

On tap at the Sun Inn, Kelvedon. Very light bitter. Quite fruity with hints of tangerine and subtle lime. Very moorish lip smacking beer. Not bitter.
