Description
The name Brasserie du Flo originates from the locality located just in front of the town hall. At this place was a body of water, the size of which varied according to the seasons and which was called 'Le Flo'. The Confrérie de St. Antoine (Brotherhood of St. Antoine) has had its own beer brewed since 1978 (Cuvée St. Antoine Brune). The beer was brewed for years at Brasserie du Bocq in Purnode and then at the Van Steenberge brewery in Ertvelde. In December 2002 a private microbrewery was established in the former town hall of Blehen.
After being at a standstill following the explosion of a tank in 2017, a new project (still under the wings of the Confrérie de St. Antoine) is being set up where the quality and the didactic aspect are put forward. A young team of enthusiasts will invest in modern equipment to relaunch the brewery.

750 ml bottle, used a tulip glass. Nice unfiltered gold color. Thin white head. Nose is fruity with nose yeast profile. Melons mostly for nose. Taste is a bit different. Yeast is there but I get a dried sugary fruit flavor. Finish is sweet with sugar a light Belgian spice. Dry finish. Nice brew, thanks goes out to Adam Jackson on sharing this one.

Stored in the cellar for a while...maybe 4 months? Enjoyed in a Delirium glass at cellar temp so around 62 degrees.
A - 1-finger yellow-ish head that subsided quick to nothing. SRM of 9. Dark slightly dark hues of gold and orange. Minor haze but overall pretty clear.
S - Very sweet. Pears and bright flowers. pollen and honeysuckle. big bright smell. Apples? It’s really gorgeous.
T - Wow. Super nice. Mild hop aroma is dominated by apples and oranges. Melons. yeah, lots of melons and a hint of vanilla. Honey brightness on the finish.
M - 40% carbonation on the mouth swish. Medium body with a crisp finish. Honestly, the mouthfeel is not reminiscent of a belgian strong ale. More like a Saison.
O - Very crisp and bright. Nice taste indeed. I liked this one a lot.

Bottle. Cloudy golden body. Frothy, white head, slowly diminishing. Aroma is fruity with notes of citrus, tangerine, orange rind, tart apple, basement mustiness. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Some tartness in the finish. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. The beer yields lots of flavors and aromas and most of them are fairly forward. In fact, if they were a little less forward and more nuanced and subtle, the flavors would blend together better. That puts this in the good, but not great category.

Bottled. Hazy deep orangeish brown colour with a mediumsized beige head. Aroma is sweet fruits, some sour wood, quite brett like sourness (is this intended or not?). Flavour is caramel, toffee, spices, mild brett and sour wood. Very dry palate. Not sure if the sour/tartness/brettlike stuff is intended here, but this suits my palate very well, even though the sourness would be an infection.

Bottled 330ml (Petalax)
Thanks bierkoning! Murky amber color, steady off-white head. At first some sour aromas, then caramel and light vegetables. Medium-bodied. Caramel, tart flavor (infected?), lots of vegetables. Tart and not very drinkable.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours a cloudy amber with some floating impurities and an off-white head. Flowery, perfumy aroma atop some burned caramel. Medium body, again these perfumy accents, somewhat dusty and ashy with a little caramel. No real bitterness. A strange bird. 020412
