@FBGBF-750ml bottle-pours a retaining light tan head and copper color. Aroma is fruit, yeast, light/medium malt. Taste is fruit, dry-barn/yeast, light/medium malt. OK effervescence.

A tiny push on the cork causes it to rocket out of the bottle - very lively (and loud!) pour - well-sustained head of loose, soapy bubbles - effervescent body - hazy burnt orange - hibiscus is very prominent in the nose, along with some other wildflower notes, a touch of honey, acetic acid, the faintest hint of damp oak - despite the lively carbonation, it feels soft in the mouth - some honey sweetness up front, but this fades fast, and the beer remains semi-dry for most of the experience - dry, bitter herbal character - a bit of sourness that tastes almost like rye - a bit of oakiness and acetic character arrive along with that - some mild earthy funk on the back end - despite the fact that it is rather dry, it never develops the crispness that distinguishes a quality saison - it just seems kind of "wet" and sort of flabby - some warming character in the finish, with lingering acidity, some peach and apple flavor - there are some good things happening in this beer, but they don’t wind up coming together nearly as well as they could.

2009 Vintage thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a huge white head over a hazy amber body. Aroma is funky, phenolic, dry, oak, wine, buttery, and lightly herbal. Taste is tart, nearly sour, with a grainy note. Super attenuated. Lively bubbles on a very dry mouthfeel. Another delicious beer from Saint Somewhere.

Draft. Rich amber beer with a light tan head. Earthy aroma with tartness and light malt. Tart flavor with easrth and light citrus. Medium bodied. Tartness lingers with light citrus and light malt.

Bottle 75cl. @ Chris O’s Night of the Gaylords.Clear medium amber color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, lacto, fruity, moderate yeasty, glue, woody. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet, light to moderate acidic and moderate to heavy bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20091229]

Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, spicy, citrus, fruity, light to moderate yeasty, spicy - chamomile - nettle. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration, sour, peppery. Body is medium to light, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20091229]
