Had a glass from the tap at Ulysses in NYC. Poured a bright, cloudy gold with a foamy head. Aroma of citrus and spice. Tasted sour and bitter, with notes of grapefruit, flowers, and some variety of spices. I’m not a huge fan of this style of beer but it is an interesting departure from my normal fare (IPAs, pilseners, stouts, et al.).

2009 Bottle. Nearly got killed by the cork, again, and it sent my dog cowering behind a chair (scared the crap out of him). Bottle gushed about a third of its contents. The beer continued to repeatedly gush over the rim of my glass once I had poured it as well (go figure...). Huge tan head, murky brown body with floaties. Aroma is muted with bread, spice, candi sugar and dark fruits. Taste is bready, slightly metallic, with dark fruits, candied sugar, apple and tangerine. Over carbonated and dry mouthfeel. Didn’t really float my boat.

Light orange color. Some carbonation. Light closes and spice, with considerable yeast. There is enough yeast and spice that I thought it was a saison. Good.

Cask @ Great Orlando Beer Festival. Pours hazy golden orange color with white head. Sour and slightly funky aroma with some lemon. Sour flavor and fruitiness with the spices of their regular saison. Some vinous notes, oak and brett. Medium body with minimal carbonation. Nice.

Pours deep amber into a tulip. Tan head recedes to skim surface. Balsamic and spicy fruit aromas. Crisp and well balance - sweet summer fruits upfront turning sour and lemony in the lasting finish.

Cask at GOBF. This beer had all the goodness of the regular Saison Athene. Pours hazy golden/orange with no head. Some sourness / tartness with light sweet sugar notes. Mouthfeel of barrel and light wine notes with the wood giving a superb mouthfeel as well as some of the light Cabernet touch. Some champagne yeast, light spices, and herbs. Beer was very enjoyable a little on the tart side.

Bottle courtesy of Kinz on 05/02/2009. Cloudy orange body with a medium frothy white head. Big coriander and spice aroma with some fruity hints. Sweet floral, spicy and faint fruity flavor. Medium light body with moderately high carbonation and a very smooth finish.

Pour is a hazy yellow with a large white head. Aroma is lots of lemon peel with some pepper and clove. Flavor is some yeast with lots of lemon peel and again the pepper makes an appearance. Probably could use more "funk" for a saison but this was still really tasty and and something to look for.

2008 Vintage 750 thanks to dchmela. Pours with a glowing, hazed, sunshine golden body with a large, fluffy and long lasting head that leaves very good lacing. Aroma of honey, fennel, coriander, biscuit, pepper, must and hops. Taste is hops, earthiness, tons of malt, herbal notes, cereal, alcohol, and pepper. Slight unami note in the finish. Really pleasant to drink, but quite strong for a saison. Lively carbonation, dry mouthfeel.

750ml bottle-pours a foamy to rocky light tan head and hazy copper color. Aroma is yeasty, vinegar, earthy, medium malt, some caramel. Taste is medium malt-some caramel, yeasty, vinegar/tart, secondary earthy/copper/spice hops. Medium body. Interesting. Occasional.
