2/II/19 - sample @ Brugs Bierfestival, BB: n/a - (2019-185) Thanks to the Belgian ratebeer crew for sharing todays' beers!
Clear dark brown beer, small creamy beige head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very malty, lots of soy sauce, spicy, bit weird… Not exactly what you'd expect from a RIS. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: pretty roasted start, bitter, very malty, lots of grains followed by an unpleasant bitterness. Aftertaste: very roasted, lots of soy sauce, bitter, unpleasant, alcohol, bit sourish. Rather disappointing, this one…

Bottle shared at Cotteridge Convention 2018 - cheers all! Pours cloudy yellow-gold with a creamy, off-white head. Good enough, has some wheat bread, lemon peel, Belgian yeast. Medium bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Finishes with moderate boozy warmth, more lemon peel, pale grains and white sugar. Drinkable gear.

23rd June 2018, shared bottle at the Cotteridge gathering. 0.75 litre bottle bought by me from De Bierboom (Brugge) from Rudy, who is one of 'De Vier Monniken'. Slight haze to the light golden body, smooth white pillow of foam on top. Grainy with a yeasty ester, plus a mild citrus leaning aroma wise, the taste also grainy and citrusy in nature with a yeast presence throughout.

Bottle split at Cotteridge Convention IV, many thanks, 23/06/18. Hazed orange yellow with a decent off white covering. Nose is stewed fruits, grass, yeast esters, orange peel, light booze. Taste comprises grains, breads, tangy citric peel, yeast esters, light spice, herb, raw fruits. Medium plus body, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a touch of raw alcohol. So so affair.
