04/02/2018 - small glass shared with tderoeck, 77ships and rubin77 @BAB, Bruges. Dark brown, no head. Nose is rich dark malts, caramel, hint of licorice, bit nuts. Taste is dark malts, chocolate sause (realy felt a bit like this seen the medium thickness), caramel. pralines. Nice

At Brugs Bierfestival, 4 February 2018. Cheers to Anke & Pieter!

Small sample (10cl) of what remained at the festival. Cloudy dark brown, no head. Aroma of vanilla, nuts, candied fruits, fruit liqueur, spices, bourbon. Tastes medium malty/caramel-like sweet and light to medium herbal/hoppy bitter. Lingering ripe fruits in the deeply alcoholic finish (which, for its ABV, remains relatively hidden). Full body, oily texture, soft to flat carbonation. Gimmicky but worth it.

Thanks to tderoeck, Bierridder_S & Rubin77. Sampled bottled @ Brugs Bier Festival 2018. Very dark brown with zero head. Nose is very oxidized oddly seemingly with leaves, sweet basic chocolate, little brown banana. Obviously alcoholic but not intrusive, that oxidized like flavour with basic chocolate, dark fruits, low leaves, flat, not as thick as expected, simple, that bit odd profile but fun enough to try.

Clear orange beer, aery irregular white head, little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: sweet ripe banana, fruity, some alcohol, some peach, cuberdons (must be something in the yeast?). MF: very lively carbon, medium to light body. Taste: banana, little bitter, banana peel, bit malty, yeast. Aftertaste: pretty bitter, more banana peel, yeasty, bit spicy and herbal finish.

Clear dark purple to brown beer, no head. Aroma: lovely stuff! Super fruity, cuberdons (typical Belgian candy), alcohol, dried fruits. MF: no carbon, medium to full body. Taste: lots and lots of chocolate, alcohol, bit sweet, very nice, sugary, caramel, more alcohol. Aftertaste: more alcohol, lots of chocolate, soft bitterness, lots of dried fruits, bit sweet, not too sweet, very decent stuff!

F: medium size, light tanned, poor retention. C: dark, opaque. A: malty, chocolate, cocoa, dried fruits, banana, bit vinous. T: dark malt, cocoa, chocolate, dark caramel, bit vinous, dark cherries, warming alcohol, bit nutty, not bad balanced but lack some more complexity to balance huge ABV and to be great, almost full body, lower carbonation, only good yet enjoyed, 33cl bottle from Winters Bier Festival in Waregem.

20th Nov 2017. Shrewsbury Beer Share Group Meeting in Chez Sophie. 75cl bottle: BB Apr 2019, brought by me from Rudy in De bierboom, Brugges, he is one of the 'four monks' who brewed this. Slight haze to the golden pour, white topping. Incredible Belgian yeast aroma and a lovely, easy drinking Tripel with enough sweetness to appeal to my sweet tooth. There is a light spiciness and floral/fruit element within the flavours, I really enjoyed it.
