Absolutely delicious ale possessing a strong butterscotch flavour. Much enjoyed on Cask in Lewes where it came across as sweeter than when tried in Alfriston at The Star Inn where it was bitter. 4.5/5 in Lewes, 3.5/5 in Alfriston. Re-rated, bottle bought at shop in local area. Hugely dissapointing!! I was expecting good things after last time. This time, it came across like lager, not only in aroma but in taste too. Too much fizz. Some grassy hops there. Getting better over the time with the grass hops. 4.1 to 3.1. (27/12/18) ---- Rerated on cask at the Patridge, Parsons green. 3.1 to 3. Very av. Aley and fine but av. (24/8/19) ------- Rerated on cask at the Counting house, Eastbourne. 3 to 3.1 A quite nice ale that balances all the elements.

Cask at Plough and Harrow, littlington. A real problem at the pub that day (mid December), all Long Man beers tasted very skunky, like dirty pub floor. I like this brewery but this time the long blonde was barely drinkable. Retried cask at weatherspoojs Eastbourne. Similar palate which is very unpleasant which hit after first initial taste which was fantaysic like dark star hopehead. Shame it lasted for 2 seconds. Still not a fan albeit better. (11/4/17) Retried cask at Tiger Inn, East Dean. See through. Nice crunchy ending. Much better. 1.7 to 2.5.

Cask at the Plough & Harrow Littlington. Unfair rating as I know I’ve had better long man bitter than this, think the pub cocked up a bit. Beer came across with nasty skunk, pub floor aroma and too sweet in body. (2-3-3-2-8 Febuary 9th, est.) This time, I found this beer to be actually rather nice! Almost sacrilege for me to say but it tasted as good if not better than the Sussex Best from last night. It reminded me what a good sussex bitter should be. Aroma was a bit vinegary. It was incredibly quaffable, slightly sweet, classic Long Man taste. Some hint of last times failure but overall was really good here at the Ship in Meads (6-2-7-4-16, 20th April) Rerated. Sweet bitter as they go. Finish wasn't nice after a good amount of it. 646213 23/12/18 ----- Rerated from pin keg from brewery. 3.2 to 3.5. quaffable. (29/12/19) ------ Rerated, multiple bottles from brewery & cask at The Pilot Inn, Eastbourne. 3.5 to 3.6. (2024 I believe) ---- Cask at The Eight Bells, Jevington. 7.1 to 6.3. Felt quite unremarkable this time and a bit heavy. (4/4/26).

Cask half pint at The George Inn, Borough. Dark ruby colour, off-white to beige head. Malty aroma, notes of moderately roasted malts. The roastiness comes through a bit stronger in the flavour, but the beer is still fairly smooth and mild to drink. Fairly bitter finish.
