Neutral grainy beginning. Easy to drink, fruity red with a mild soft grainy finish. Caramel, dry bitter red malt, burned bitter red malty dry finish. Not too sessionable, but nice.

Couleur noire, col huileux doré au verre, col fin café au lait - moka.
Arôme est fortement centré sur les malts - grillé, chocolaté, effet avoine, pointe de tourbe, fine note de vanille - fruits noirs.
Palais est épais bien sur les malts - je ne suis pas certain que ces assemblages aient été nécessaires - le base reste fort centrée sur les malts - chocolat noire/brun amer, grillé, caramel, roast, note un peu toasté avec un léger rétro-nasal de fruits noirs. les diverses barriques, dont certaines ayant un profil bien tourbé, n'apportent pas trop en terme de complexité - à cet égard, je note peu l'apport de vanille. Le tout deveint un méli-mélo sans la profonduer des différents coupages comme le ferait FireStone.

Arôme est plaisant sur de fins effluves de malts - notes de caramel, pointe de grillé, cara Munich, qcq pointes de pils. Rétro houblonné délicat sur le fruité avec une petite note de tropical avec un léger fruité vert.
Palais est léger sur une base centrée sur les malts - caramel, finement grillé avec une amertume délicate. Levure allemande plaisante, pointe ester sans être surfaite avec un fini houblonné apportant une bonne fraicheur fruitée en fin de bouche.

Sesongstart Mi2 på Cardinal, og etter en perlerad av fatøl og et nydelig boksøl bærer seremonimester Melberg nå frem kveldens første flaskeøl (0,33): nesten helt svart med fint skum som varer helt ned. Litt tjære og fjære, mye kaffe, mørke karameller og en dæsj hjemmelaget solbærsaft. So smooth, so good.

Shared bottle at Cardinal. Pours black with little beige head. Aroma of whisky, smoke, notes of chocolate and fruits. Tastes slightly sweet with little bitterness. Medium bodied. A lot of whisky aroma in the first place, getting more balanced towards the finish.

Hazy golden, thin, frothy, off-white head. Aroma of peach, nectarine, tangerine, mint, lychee, coconut. Taste has sweet peach, pineapple & tangerine next to sourish citrus, spicy pepper note and mint, doughy malt undercurrent. Floral hoppy finish, bit peppery with pithy stonefruit and spices. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation. Pleasantly juicy yet crisp.

On tap at Brussels Beer Project Canal, Sunday 4th September 2022 after the wonderful Cezanne in Provence digital art Installation at L'Atelier des Lumières and a walk around Père Lachaise Cemetery. Pours glowing orange gold with a white head, nice spiciness and the abv is easily hidden. A ripe, overipe soft fruitiness with, sweetness and a little honey.
