Bottle. Color is interesting, not even ball park for a tripel (or for most west coast IPAs). Deep amber, nearly a bronze-brown (WTH). Large and lasting, lightly tan head. Good lace. Aromas are of isoamyl acetate, brown sugar, alcohol, persimmons, baked apple, dark fruits, lightly grassy with some herbal hop character. Flavors are boozy, leathery, apple, light nearly applewood bacon like not (odd phenol/ester combo perhaps?), medium bitter, lots of esters, lightly grassy, medium herbal hop character. Medium to lively bubbles, dry and boozy.

Draught No head left; hazy deep-orange beer. Fusely, 4Vinylguaiacol, clove & banana spiced. Bitter-spiced, less 4VG than the nose suggests; sharp bitterish, but indifferent hoplining. Finishes quite dry. Spritzy, quite slick, medium bodied at least. Very dry "afterfeel". Not bad, but again one that is more Weizen than saison.

Draught B.C."H." over golden beer with orangey sheen. Orangepeel nose, slightly spicy and yeast byproducts. Very dry orangepeel flavour, with again the spicy, peppery yeastfeatures. Medium bodied at least; bit sharpish MF. Rather run-of-the-mill beer, very estery and yeast intoned.

Draught Small white rim, cloudy yellow beer. Dry, noble, but discreet hops. Seems to get a touch of coriander. Hops seem more UK in the nose, with excellent pale malts, and a touch of sulphur. Bit yeasty too. Finish is a tad astringent, and bready. Light to medium bodied, gristslickness. Decent blonde. I’m really curious about the hops used.

Capped 750 from Beverages 4 Less in Santee, CA. Fred is on top of new releases. Pours cloudy, dark, somewhat ruddy, amber. Decent creamy beige head. Aromas of yeast/spice, kandi, light pitted fruit, citrus. Can’t smell alcohol, but I get a burn deep in the trachea. Full bodied. The alcohol is present, but more a flavor enhancement than an issue. Flavor is yeast/spice, pretty roasted malt, hint of chocolate, definitely light pitted fruit, and pretty sure about citrus. And there’s sort of an overarching perfume/floral. Which maybe is a combo of alcohol and fruit esters. Fairly complex ale. The mouth feel is fantastic, and the flavors persist into the finish. This is a great sipper. Tho I’m gonna do the bottle. It is a very tasty ale.
