On tap @the brewery. Short pour. Shiny, grapefruit-colored brew. Earthy, soft strawberry & grape. Taste is lemon, sharp grape skins, muscadines that taste like watermelon, toasty grain, soft, earthy funk. Botanist makes a cider that tastes a lot like this. Great carb, very yeasty. Good.

12 day old bottle A: Crystal clear pale amber brown with little head, retention or lace. S: Grainy toasted bread with hints of caramel and herbs. T: Sweet grain and caramel with woody notes. Light but sharp herbal or peppery hop bitterness and a bit of pine or citrus lend balance. M: Light bodied with average to low carbonation. Lightly sticky. O: Well balanced and approachable. Not great but well worth a try.

Pale yellow color with thin lacing. Mild, slightly sweet aroma. Taste is mild and smooth with a light peach flavor at the finish. Low hop bitterness, but not overly sweet.

6 week old can A: Clear pale yellow with a tall tight head that held a pad. Clumpy lace. S: Floral and citrus notes and sweet bread dough or cake. T: Tart and lightly bitter with florals and citrus from the nose. Tonic-y toward the finish, which is better than seltzery. M: Thin bodied and spritzy finishing very clean. O: Expectedly not bad but lacking in body and malt presence. OK for 3.9%.

(Thanks, Jim! Ozzy70) Bottle. A- Roasty, cola, cocoa. A- Dark brown color, dark liquid, tan head. T- Cola, roasty, faint bitterness, cocoa, molasses. P- Medium body, slightly thin texture, average carbonation, smooth finish. O- A definite classic. Well balanced. Sometimes it's easy to forget about these old reliables with so much flavored stuff out there,

Taster at the Brick Store Pub. Pours brown, with a small, beige head. The nose is cloves, toffee, dust, chalk, and light coffee. Sweet and malty, with a thin, acrid bitterness. Fair.

From a $2 can its clear pale yeller with a bog foamy head. Some fresh beery urine nose. Taste is initially not as sharply better as expected but it builds in the middle. Sharpness builds in the middle. Not bad overall, perhaps a little better than expected.

OK, so I'm drinken this and I'm thinking I've had this before; a veggie tasting bitter and sometimes immaturely astringent brew. Weird stagnant hop olfactory, you know, skunky cabbage, yet mild? You also know, like any other session bullshit IPA that thinks its necessary to punish your buds with bitterness, just to enjoy a beer. Is drinken a high abv alky beer endurable if its bitter? Just asking. Answer is yes, as long as you get a sense of euphorbia from it. And this? No positive psychological effects, just IPA bitter, there you have it: An IPA without any psycho enjoyment, The end.

Competent IPA, just not altogether interesting or memorable. Strong notes of pine, resin, and grapefruit, with a firm bitterness on the back end laced with caramel and citrus zest. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing that would bring me back, either.
