Beautiful pour, golden and sightly hazed with a gorgeous white cap. Taste offers up grapefruit, peach, passion fruit, and pine, with a lingering woody bitterness on the back end and a hint of cracker from the malt. Not a bad pint.

5 week old can A: Pretty thickly hazed bright chalky yellow with a short frothy head. S: Sweet aroma of nondescript citrus and tropical fruits competing with wafer cookies. T: Some welcome citrus pith bitterness dominates, with faint seltzer, toasty bread and woody malts underneath. Tart berries at the end. M: Clean mouthfeel with no hop burn and prickly carbonation. O: Pretty average overall with one dimensional flavor, but at least it's not sweet and feathery.

6 week old can from mixed 12 pack A: Poured 1 pf tan froth atop a black brown body. Good retention and thick lace. S: Mostly dark chocolate, roasty coffee and faint molasses. T: Bitter and roasty coffee and unsweetened chocolate up front. Faint molasses or toffee and even an herbal hop note toward the end. M: Low but prickly carbonation, a smooth texture and ashy finish. O: Simple and no nonsense. Bitter and roasty. Quite good.

Pine resin aroma. Typical IPA flavor with a mild malt backbone followed by a hop bitterness and usual hoppy bitter aftertaste.

On tap at Linville Falls Lodge. Clear golden with medium white head. Malty, bit grainy, some lemon notes, light hoppiness coming through. Tad bitter. Light to medium bodied.

On tap @Highland. Short pour. Dark amber with an orange hue. Medicinal nose, watery amaretto. Warm, dark bread, nutty liquor, lingering earthy bitterness, menthol, from finishes very dry. Unexpectedly smooth & mellow. Moderately carbed, on the thinner side of malty. Good stuff.

On tap @Highland after selling my blood to the highest(only) bidder. Frothy, tall, 12oz Weiss glass. Hazy, lacy, 14k gold. Menthol, woody bitter nose, kinda sharp. Surface cleaner. Not a whole lot going on. Mix of Aspirin & lemon pith bitterness. Dusty dry bread crumbs. Sharp. Ever slight touch of sweetness that invalidates the whole thing. More body than expected. Strong for it's size. Over it.

On tap @Highland. The July edition must've ran out, because this is the commemorative brew they had for June. Short pour. Dark, deep purple-ish. Difficult nose. Beets? Grape skin. Super tart & sour. Like straight tart cherry juice that costs $9 a quart. Lemon sharp. Lingering fuity, muscadine grape finish. Just rated the base for this beer & it's good but very obvious. I think my tongue might be tired because I should like this more.

On tap @Highland. Short pour. Clear, oily pale gold, bit of lace. Neutral if slightly tannic scent, too cold, couldn't fit my nose in the glass. Pick one. Taste is very similar to Carolina Rose, but a touch harsher, more acidic. Punchy grain, muscadine funk, Rhine wine, straight lemon juice. Crust finish. Crispy, thin, dusty.
