Growler thanks to travita. Pours with a fading white head over a hazed golden body. Aroma is fruity, grassy and grainy, with a hint of styrofoam. Taste is grainy, citrus, and fruity. Lively bubbles. Really easy to drink!

Bottle shared with the Chicago crew, thanks to Kan! Poured black, opaque edge with a tan head. Aroma was surprisingly tart with a clear sour note, some smoke, vanilla and a bit of bourbon. Flavor begins tart and smokey and vanilla, bourbon and chocolate flavors grow. Can’t really get over the tart note and I am pretty sure this is infected. Really unfortunate, was really excited to get a chance to try this.

bottle at RBWG, pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma is smoked malt and peat. Flavor is peaty and smokey at well with little bourbon elements. Tastes more like a scotch aged stout. Strange.

2009 Bottle number 33/95 thanks to travita. Pours a brown color with minimal head. Aroma is a touch off, sour with leather and brown sugar. Taste is sour, chocolate and some wood notes. Signs of a lacto infection? Didn’t taste really funky, or buttery, but still sour. Light bubbles.

Shaker pint draft at the brewpub in San Antonio, Texas. Pour is a cloudy hazed copper yellow with a minimal white head. Aroma is slight sour, wheat grain, and a yeasty coriander. Taste is the sour wheat grain up front, followed close behind by the mineral coriander and lemongrass. The finish and aftertaste are a touch dirty and dull. Palate is medium bodied, with light carbonation. Overall, a well constructed and nice tasting Wit.
