16 September 2020. At Draft & Dreams, Bologna. Shared with the lovely Anke! Hazy-murky orange with a stable, foamy, off-white head; lots of lacing. Aroma of pink & white pepper, pink grapefruit peel, dusty brioche, old biscuit, peanut, mango, old herbs, tobacco leaves. Taste has sweetish mango & orange, bitter core of pepper, herbs & grapefruit peel, yeasty, old bready feel. Dry, yeasty, peppery hoppy finish, old dusty fruit & some warming gin alcohol lingering. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. In itself a nice spicy DIPA but it feels to old & dusty.

Aroma of melon, pineapple, wet white pepper, pine, breadcrust, citrus zest. Taste has sweetish melon, pineapple & yellow apple, spicy-yeasty & hoppy accent giving low bitterness. Dryish, piney hoppy finish, unripe fruit, yeast & spices lingering. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Lacks some good hop fragrance.

Tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours fairly brilliant red, with limited, very fine white foam. Aroma is delicate fruity, berries more than cherries. Body is fairly dense, with average carbonation. Good astringency. Taste is medium-high sour, with a little fruity sweetness. Final is fairly short.

Tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours unattractive hazy brown, with froathy foam, brown and very gross. Aroma is delicate nutty and chocolate. Body is fairly dense and smooth, with limited carbonation. Quite some spiciness tickling your tongue. Taste is dominated by spiciness, with medium sweetness. Final is pretty long and spicy.

Tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours hazy opaque gold, with lots of suspended yeast. Nice fluffy head of white foam, very fine. Aroma is weak, delicately peppery and herbaceous. Body is average, like carbonation and some peppery feeling. Taste has a nice medium-strong bitterness, with a little initial sweetness. Final is fairly long and bitter.

Bottle: Poured a brown with thin beige head. Aroma is Smokey and medicinal. Taste is more smoke, bandaid, veggie, undrinkable really. Sad this is the second Italian beer I’ve gotten in as many months that wasn’t right.
