Description
St. Peter's is an independent brewery founded in 1996 by John Murphy in former agricultural buildings adjacent to St. Peter’s Hall in St Peter, South Elmham, near Bungay, Suffolk, England. Siting the brewery at St. Peter’s was ideal because of the excellent water quality from our own deep bore-hole. Locally malted barley is used, together with Kentish hops, to produce a range of classical beers (bitters, mild etc.) as well as some more unusual beers such as honey porter and fruit beer.
Fun fact: The oval shape of its signatory 500 ml bottle is based on an 18th-century gin bottle from Gibbstown, by the Delaware River near Philadelphia, USA.

Bottle. Golden color similar to a regular lager. Slight head with some lace. Aroma is average with some skunk. Flavor is like a cheap America lager.

Horrible, undrinkable. Nose is pure honey, sickly sweet. Taste is not much better. Fake honey flavor. Very little porter.

The label mentions Christmas cake but there's not as much as the other one. Very dark, sweet and sticky. Treacle is a good word.

Way too much Christmas cake. Sweet, spicy, hard to drink.

From the world-famous city of Bungay. Surprisingly good, given their other beers.

Bottle from Trader Joe's in Davis, CA. Pours darkish gold with a monstrous foamy white head. Aroma of mild toffee and florals. Med body. Malty yet quite dry. Moderately bitter. Flavor of mild toffee, floral and a touch of grass/spice/earth. Quite nice. Oh to be over the pond once more ....

0.5 l bottle. Pours hazy, deep golden with no head. Something was off with this: it was watery, thin and lacked every aroma and taste.

Bottled. Pours ruby colour with beige head that disappears quickly. Nicely balanced, bittersweet notes in aroma and taste: some caramel, biscuits but the hops are also present. The finish is bitter and relatively long lasting. Light bodied but has distinctive characteristics; decent bitter.

Bottled. Pours black colour with no head. Coffee, roasted notes, liquorice make up the aroma and taste. Creamy mouthfeel and light body with soft carbonation. Easily drinkable yet full of flavours.
