We are an Independent Family Brewer based in Dudley which has brewing on the same site since 1915.
The Brewery is still run by the fourth generation of The Holden Family and whilst they all enjoy a very much hands on approach to the business, they are still just as committed to their proud history and heritage and to the generations to come.

Gravity cask at the Bree Louise. Clear golden pour with no head. Doughy malts on the nose and some citric hops. Lightly sweet, more bready malts, some astringent, orange citrus hops. Light bodied with soft carbonation. Finishes dry, a little leafy, with light honey and bread. Alright brew.

Bottle 500ml. clear glass.Clear medium yellow orange color with a average, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, white head. Aroma is moderate apple, sweet apple, sour apples, light barnyard. Flavor is moderate sweet and light light acidic with a average duration, overripped apple, dry. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20110129]

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Clear yellow with a small white head. Fresh and intense apple aroma. Medium body, fresh green apples, tart with a vague underlying sweetness. Dry and lightly astringent finish. Well made. 290111

Bottle @ Ulfborg Weekend, Jan 2011. Pours clear golden with a white bubbles on top. Sweet and fresh red apples with a vague refreshing tartness. Ends dry.

Cask at NWAF, 2011. Dark brown pour with a reddish tint, beige head. Aromas of coffee, wet wood, dark chocolate and sweet spices. Flavours of nuts, butterscotch, caramel, dark fruits and vanilla. Dry, sweet finish.

Spoons. Clerar gold beer, little white head. Dry palate. Fresh hop, apple and grapefruit with a little orange.Semi dry finish. Bitterish aftertaste. Nice flavour and drinkable but too dry.

Cask handpull at County Hotel JDW Ashford. Gold amber clear colour. Lasting beige head. Touch of caramel on aroma but it works on a bitter like this. Love the dry malt and the finish is lovely. Some sting earthy hop and just great. Good premium bitter

Cask at the Prince Arthur (JDW), Fleet. Amber with a tight cream head; biscuity aroma; grapefruit flavour with a grainy body; sweet finish with some grassy hops.
