Bottle, from the reduced to clear bin at Mitchell’s Wines, Sheffield. Pours clear, deep reddy bronze. Film and ring of sticky, cream coloured head. Looks good. Aromas of toffee. Caramel. Light roast. Squidgy dark fruit. Dates, and the like. Taste is soft sweet. Smooth mouthfeel. Good depth. Hint of fruity bitterness on the finish. Way better than I anticipated.

18th July 2015: Cask pint, hand-pulled at The Red Lion, Bakewell Derbyshire. As the name suggests this is golden in colour, on top a white head. Aroma of malts with a mini hop trace. The taste was also malty molasses like but with a mild citrus undertone which grew as the beer warmed in the afternoon sun outside the pub. Another golden beer with a citrus feel: enough said.

18th July 2015: hand-pulled cask pint in the garden of The Red Lion, Bakewell Derbyshire. Nice blend, if a little subtle in nature taste wise, amber pour with a white topping. Slightly bitter flavour with a mildly hop like nose. The sunshine helped my mood and this did me no harm, not too sure it did me any good either but I had a good day out with a bunch of like minded people drinking beer.

Half, cask at Five Lamps. Naked surface to a clear blond coloured body. Aromas of resinous hops. Pale malts with a citric touch to the taste buds. Short-lived, dry bitter ending. Ordinary (Derby 21.02.2015).
