500ml bottle from Saucy Pears, Worcester. Dark cola colour with no head. Aroma is very light almost nothing. The taste has roasted malt but is a touch watery.

500ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours clear golden amber, no real head. Aromas of pale malt, caramel, faintest lemon. Taste is sweet, sticky. Not great.

Bottle from the brewer’s own stand at the Good Food Show at Birmingham NEC. Deep amber beer. Tastes rather strongly of Christmas pudding. Yep, toffee and raisins and a bit of cinnamon and brown sugar and more raisins. Nice to have a Christmas beer that’s actually got something to do with Christmas. Unfortunately there’s nothing to balance it and it rapidly gets too sweet and syrupy. Still not bad though.

500ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours clear amber, thin, short-lived white head. initially a piney aromas, giving way to grass and malt. Taste is more caramel malt, light bitter orange at the end. Light body, light oiliness to the texture. Not bad.

Fra cask på Blue Bell, York 30 Okt 14. Ekstremt mørk amber. Lavt litt farget skum. Teppelacing. Anonym aroma. Hint av frukt. Smaken er frukttyggegummi. Blir behagelig tørr & bitter etter hvert.

500ml bottle shared with Ashton McCobb. Yorkshire part two tasting. Pours clear gold, thin short-lived white head. Light lemon and pine aromas. Taste is more citrus, resinous hops, nice malt backbone. Good body for the strength. Nice.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - golden and clear. Decent head. Nose - lemon and flower stocks. Taste - more lemon with a dry earthy note in the background. Palate - light bodied with a tangy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - yep great beer considering the strength.

Cask at the Earl of Essex, 04/11/14. Clear golden with minimalist off white spotting and edgeing. Nose is apricot, bitter orange, straw, light fart, melon. Taste comprises orange, mandarin, perfumed notes, straw, light hop presence. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close. So so affair, pretty 1D, too many far superior IPA’s out there today to bother with this one again.

Keg at the CP&K, Pimliville, 15/10/14. Black with a decent tan covering that stays to make conversation. Nose is sweet chocolate, dark malts, toffee fudge, sweet aromas but in a nice way akin to chocolate sauce being melted. Taste comprises light roast, Bourbon biscuits, earthy cocoa. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with sweet licks. Decent stuff, fairly sweet but a little roast and bitterness keeps this drinkable.
