12/I/25 - 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker), shared @ home, BB: 29/XII/24, L2229 16:52 (2025-27)
A little cloudy orange beer, lots of debris floating around in the glass under a small bit irregular yellowish head, unstable, falls down immediately, non adhesive. Aroma: oxidised, malty, dried orange peel, grains, honey. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet malty start, very oxidized, soft bitterness, sourish touch, dried orange peel, spicy, herbal, a bit unpleasant. Aftertaste: bit malty, spicy, bitter, oxidized, a bit sourish, pretty bad.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Light clouded gold with small white head. Aroma is malty with apple and pear skin plus hint of herbs and menthol. The malt and light herbal menthol element comes through in the flavour as well as banana. Nice sparkle to carbonation, slight cloying note in finish. A bit mixed for me.

Bottle from Beers of Europe and marks my 100th Belgium rating. Turned out to be a gusher which I wasn't prepared for and lost a quarter of it. Once in the glass it has a murky amber brown look with quickly dissipating head. Notes of liquorice, caramel, dark malts, prunes, hint of balsamic vinegar, light brown sugars. Warming alcohol heat on the way down but I didn't detect it in the taste. Very good depth to this - rich but not overdone. Medium to full bodied, some stickiness on the palate, fine carbonation.

Bottle from HOTM. Pours a red tinged mahogany with small beige head. Aroma is promising with notes of caramel, malt, red wine, mixed dried fruits. Great depth of flavour with notes of dark malts, caramel, spice, grape, raisins, lime zest, minor vinous. Medium body, semi-fine carbonation, semi-dry, alcohol warmth on way down. Excellent.
