Schade!

500ml bottle, No. 231 @ Christmas tasting in blackhaddock's beer cave. Pours deep dark brown, small off-white head. Aroma of Belgian candy sugar, gentle cognac influence. Flavour profile reveals a lovely deep sweet toffee character with a cloak of cognac adding a welcome depth. A lovely beer this.

Christmas Gathering, 18th December 2023. 5 guys at my gaff drinking beer and talking bollocks. 500ml bottle, number 231 of 952 produced. Dark brown and lush, wispy off-white head. The Cognac comes through loud and clear within the already lovely base beer, malty, rich and lovely.

Bottle from Drinks Vanuxeem, Ploegsteert, Belgium. Pours a murky amber with a thin soapy looking white head. Aromas of caramel, burnt brown bread, orange peel and peppery spice. Taste has a lot more of the orange peel, winey alcohol, caramel and a touch more spice. A sweetish finish. Thinnish body with a fair amount of carbonation. Not really my type of beer but still quite unique and decent enough.
