Description
Founded in June 1999, in Milton, a village on the outskirts of Cambridge. In July 2012, Milton Brewery moved premises to the neighbouring village of Waterbeach, securing the future of the brewery, providing much needed expansion and allowing for further growth.

The Milton brewery is a traditional English Ale brewery, albeit lurking in the cunning disguise of a 1980s industrial unit. We take the finest English Maris Otter malted barley, high quality whole hops and local brewing water to produce our award-winning ales.

Cask-conditioned at the Three Tuns, Bristol 1/07/2012. Deep gold with a slight white head. Like others, I found this had a corny, dusty edge to it, with some fruit sweetness and bitter finish. Not a beer I would rush to try again.

Chelmsford Winter Fest. Opaque black beer. Dark malt and bubblegum on the nose. Pretty much the same for the flavour. A little bit too much like hard work.

Cask, handpump at The Devonshire, Cambridge Sat 14th April 2012 with Loz Mid gold with a white rim of bubbles. A superb balance of hoppiness and sweet maltiness, this is already proving to be quite a hit with me and Loz who’ve both decided that we need to stay for another one (of these!) Tropical fruits, juicy, fruity, tasty, lovely! A7 A5 T9 P4 Ov16 4.1

Cask, handpump at The Devonshire, Cambridge Sat 14th April 2012 with Loz Nice bitter with a very slightly earthy tinge and quality to it, in fact a touch of wet warm woodland leaps out at me. Fruity with a bit of maltiness and some caramel showing, the hoppiness is present but this is more your straightforward bitter and to be fair it is taking a hammering from the Saturnalia.
