On tap at Rev’s production brewery grand opening. Pours a hazy gold with a peach/ orange hue and a large white cakey head that lasts throughout the beer and laces thickly. Aroma is perfumey with flora and citrus backed by light grains and Belgian yeast. Flavor has citrus and flora up front with Belgian yeast and sweet grains in the finish.

Enjoyed on tap at Goose Island Stout Fest 2012 in Chicago, IL. I’d have to say this was worst of show, couldn’t get past the spice. Appearance is pitch black, thin off white rim around the glass. Aroma really rich in cocoa, sweet, bit of cinnamon, like cinnamon toast crunch. Taste is very very rich, cinnamon dominates to the point where its spicy, kind of hard to drink, it may be destroying my tastebuds as I type this. I don’t know if I like this very much.

Enjoyed on tap at Goose Island Stout Fest 2012 in Chicago, IL. This variety was aged in what I believe was Koval whiskey barrels. Appearance is a rich black, moderate consistency, with a thin tan rim. Aroma of bacon, whiskey, smoke, very nice aroma. Taste is pretty good, definitely get the smoke not so much the whiskey, definitely more smoke than other smoked porter’s I’ve had out there. Enjoyable, hope to try again when my palate isn’t dominated by 20 other huge stouts in a 3 hour period.
