Description
Hello and welcome to Brothers Cider, the home of the original festival cider. We are Francis, Jonathan, Matthew and Daniel and for 14 generations, since 1658, when uncle Gabriel first sold his barrels around Wells, Shepton Mallet and Glastonbury, our family has strived to make light, refreshing ciders using a variety of fruit. We are constantly exploring new recipes and love to get your feedback on our latest creations.
We first started selling our Pear Cider at the Glastonbury Festival in 1995 near what was then called the Jazz World Stage. These days it is called The West Holts Stage but our bar is still in the same place. Over the years, festival goers kept asking us if it was possible to get our drink when the festival was over and so we decided to market it to pubs and supermarkets. Now you can get it all over the country and at other festivals besides Glastonbury. See you at the bar!

Bottle at home shared with Sarah, picked up from Morrisons. A clear pale golden coloured pour with a fine white froth. Aroma is semi sweet apple, woody apple notes, light tangy apple and some solvent. Flavour is composed of dry earthy wood, bark, tangy apple, solvent. Palate is dry, wood tannin, moderate carbonation. Drying finish. Boosty.

Bottle. Color: Golden to amber, fast disappearing white head. Taste: Sweet combination of toffee and apple. At some moments more apple and at other moments more toffee. Sticky toffee mouthfeel at finish. Exactly what it's intended to be according to the label. The toffee is more overwhelming in the aroma than it is in the taste, although it's very clearly present. The sweetness makes it an easy drinkable cider for the mass, I think, but personally I prefer the less sweet ones.

Bottle shared with JMD on board Fridtjofen at Tau slipp og båtbyggeri 03.09.17. Clear pale red. No head. Aroma and taste of strawberries, iser and wine gum. A bit artificial. And with a surprising hint of Whisky.
