Med Fridtjofen på slipp på Tau: flaske fra Gulating Stavanger, delt med skibsrederen og seremonimester Melberg: helt klar blek strågul, nesten fargeløs, og uten antydning til skumdannelse. Frisk kokos og lime slår mot meg, og jeg forstår hvorfor denne skaper svært delte meninger på rb. Kjempelett å helle innpå, selv om den nok blir for søt i lengden. Partytime?

Bottle shared with JMD and SM on board Fridtjofen at Tau slipp og båtbyggeri 31.08.17. Blank, with a hue of green and yellow. Small white head. Strong aroma of fresh coconut. Fine taste of fresh cocout, Bounty chocolate bar, cider and wine gum. Surprisingly good!

Pretty good. Lightly tart apple/pears/honey/herbal/floral/fruit peel/yeast earth. Semisweet/mild carb. Slight drying acid/tannins.

Can at home split with Sarah. Picked up from Morrisons. A clear pale yellow / burnt gold. fine fizz. Aroma is weird citrus, soapy lemon handwash, sickly sweet. Flavour is composed of sweet and tangy, sickly sweet, artificial apple, weird soapy citrus. Palate is medium sweet, highish carbonation, I don’t like it.

Bottle from Sainsbury’s, Keighley. Deep golden-orange coloured cider. There’s only a blast of apple in its flavour, but when it comes it’s quite sweet. It has a dryness otherwise.

330ml can from Morrisons. Clear golden colour with a thin rapidly dissipating white head. Aroma of ripe apples, floral hop resin. Taste mirrors the aroma, sweet ripe apples, floral notes from the hop extract. Light-medium bodied, fizzy carbonation. Sweetness could do with toning down a little as it’s borderline cloying, maybe some different hops could be used instead of extract... other than that a very enjoyable cider.

500ml bottle. Pours clear orange-brown, very toffee-like, no head. Aroma is unsurprisingly filled with sweet toffee and apple. Taste is sweet and rich, toffee, ripe apples, hints of spice, fudge. Medium body and a smooth creamy mouthfeel. Lovely flavours, my only complaint is the sweetness was a bit cloying drinking this on a hot Summer’s day, probably works better as a Winter cider. Honestly surprised at so many poor ratings for this.
