Description
Hello and welcome to Brothers Cider, the home of the original festival cider. We are Francis, Jonathan, Matthew and Daniel and for 14 generations, since 1658, when uncle Gabriel first sold his barrels around Wells, Shepton Mallet and Glastonbury, our family has strived to make light, refreshing ciders using a variety of fruit. We are constantly exploring new recipes and love to get your feedback on our latest creations.
We first started selling our Pear Cider at the Glastonbury Festival in 1995 near what was then called the Jazz World Stage. These days it is called The West Holts Stage but our bar is still in the same place. Over the years, festival goers kept asking us if it was possible to get our drink when the festival was over and so we decided to market it to pubs and supermarkets. Now you can get it all over the country and at other festivals besides Glastonbury. See you at the bar!

500ml bottle from Tesco Wines. Pours clear gold. Taste is pure apple juice, fairly rich, clean without much dryness. Decent enough but lacks character.

Bottle from ASDA. Vibrant gold in colour, with a touch of fizziness. Sweetish apple juice, a touch of earthy core and skins, medium finish. Ok.

Bottle from ASDA. Deep gold and fizzy. Pleasant, mass produced cider, with plenty of apple fruit which, I would fully agree with Leaparsons, had a green edge to it, before a gentle finish with a touch of sweetener. Good, summer drinking.

Keg at the Mermaid, Porth, Cornwall on 29/5/2015. Dark and cloudy yellow with a small white head (head? on a cider? wtf?). Baked apple juice with a little straw and garden fence. Medium-dry with just a hint of tartness, just a little roughness round the edges. Quite easy drinking though. Ok cider overall.

500ml bottle from local shop. Deep golden amber colour, white foam head that dissipates away and aroma of juicy apple, toffee, playdough, vanilla, cinnamon. Taste is sweet mulled apple with toffee, spice & cream soda notes. Syrupy mouthfeel, medium bodied, medium carbonation, lingering sweet toffee at the finish. OK.

Taste is sweet, lemony, sugary, with only a faintest hint of pear and apple cider. Medium bodied, high carbonation, lingering sweet finish. Artificial lemony pop, OK .
