Cask at C’est What in Toronto. Amber orange pour. Fluffy beige head. Malty nose hints at toasted bread. Light bready malt is balanced by grassy hops. Notes of brewed tea and toffee. Smooth and delicious.

This Irish stout poured a deep black colour with a creamy, tan coloured head. Nice lacing. Scents include roasted malts, nuts, minimal alcohol, coffee and Melloids cough drops. First swig was incredibly smooth and creamy with flavours of coffee, dark toast, caramel, cream and a little cocoa. Finish is burnt with dark roasted coffee flavours lingering.

On cask at Volo. Slightly hazy golden pour, with a frothy white head. Soft hop aroma of fuggles and goldings, with some pale malts. Mouth feel was very cask like, a touch full and some soft carb. The finish is lightly bitter, with a nice fresh hop presence. A good British golden ale.

On tap at C’est What?.
Nice citrus aromas, some subtle wheat, and the ginger was WAY over powering. The ginger, was cloying, and took away from the beer. It was refreshing, but the ginger really wore thin quickly.

Wicked aroma of sweet cocoa, light coffee. I cant find any orange in here at all. Light roasted malts, more sweet cocoa finish out the flavor, and there is a light coffee finish. Nice stuff.

Lots of hops, and lots of malt, with quite a bit of smoke, and roast. But these all seem to mingle quite well together with the hops dominating the finish with a good citrus punch. Interesting stuff. Volo Cask Days 2009.

This was a great smoked ale! The aroma was super smoky with lots of bacon, sausage, and hickory. I loved it! A good smoked is like a meal on its own!

On tap at Volo.
Aroma of sweet citrus, orange jam, and some light tropical fruit. Flavor was more of the same with a touch of sweet malts. A nice IPA, pretty straight forward, but good stuff.
