Has a really coffee-like smells. Pours with no head, no lacing. Very soft carbonation - almost nothing. Ruby colour. The coffee bitter lasts a little into the taste. There’s some sugary cane sweetness too. On tap at Volos.

A lot of sediment, big chunks of dead yeast. A deep cloudy red colour. Pours with alright suds and lacing. Smells a little oaky and a little smoky. Taste follows through a little bit sour, kind of lagery. I think the whole glory of this one is that it’s on cask - not sure how it would hold up on tap but the cask gives it some character. Had pint at The Rhino.

This one smells like a dry stout. Pours black as night. Smells like some roasted malt, light. Great lacing - a solid blanket of foam. Taste is pretty light, a bit watery. Has some smokiness and a little roast. It’s pretty one-dimensional. On tap at barVolo.

Smells like slightly soured malt. Taste has soft carbonation, on cask. Has some mild bitterness. Actually one of the most decent profiles of an ESB I’ve had, especially considering I don’t really like the style that much. Definitely some fruitiness in there, apple or pear or something. Subtle but it’s there. On cask at barvolo.

Finally found this one after confusing it with hop addict like 3 times. Super intriguing for the style. Aroma starts light but the beer follows through with a bitter boozy finish. Carbonation is soft on the tongue due to the cask pour. Even has a hint of sourness in the end. This is great for the style but a little overrated in my opinion. Cask at barvolo.

Victory Cafe, Toronto tap: Pours a copper colour with a white head. Aroma is citrus, pine, with a solid malt backbone. Taste is on the way light side of the IPA world. For a beer called Hop Addict, there really is not that much in the way of bitterness or hoppiness. Somewhat sweet and mellow. This is not a bad session, but it is hardly an exemplary IPA.

Smells hoppy and pours at pitch black with an eternal cream on head. The taste has a little sourness but the body is light overall. Some bitterness here but I’m not sure if it’s quite IPA-worthy hoppiness. It’s not bad, but not that full on the palate. On tap at Ceili Cottage.

Originally rated January 2006. This Canadian hemp beer pours a hazy golden colour with a medium white head. Lightly carbonated, with fast dissipation and good lace. The leftover that tops the brew is quite nice with bubbles, patches and streaks. The aroma is strong at first, with some bitterness, and then, grain cereal malt. Caramel malt in the mouth, with some kind of sourness in the middle. Hints of chocolat malt as well, and some bread. Well brewed, but nothing over-existing. All hemp beers I have tried so far seem to have an outdated sourness to them, and I am not fond of that. Found at the LCBO Depot on Bank street in the south of Ottawa.

Pretty good hoppy bitter, an appropriately smooth carbonation level. Was told this was Tommy something or other - alternate name? At Ceili Cottage on tap.

a sexy ipa. i mean all ipas that are well made are sexy, but in the bigger picture not every golden blond colored beer can look like molson and still taste great. like a badly dressed model, really...

Drougt at Cest What, Toronto. Dark brown color, creamy amber-tan head with good retention, coffee aroma, coffee-cocoa flavor, mild carbonation, medium finish. Could not taste the orange in it though there is a ghost of sweetness involved. --- Beer merged from original tick of Steve's Dreaded Chocolate Orange Ale on 11 Jul 2011 at 12:33 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 6 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 6.
