Description
In 1984, we were the first craft brewers in Ontario. With a dedication to precision, detail and pure ingredients, we were – and still are – making the kind of beer we’d choose to drink ourselves. As Ontario’s first craft brewer, we look back to the past with pride and are excited for the future.

Ok i have a theory here. The most recent rating for this beer is from late 2007. I don;t recall every seeing this beer before in the local beers stores in my area (North bay region). Now all of a sudden they has this beer at ALL the beer stores. I’m thinking this beer is being reintroduced, and the recipe has changed, cause it ain’t as good as the past ratings from two years claim it to be.

Aroma is slightly spicy, but very wattery, and there is a cheap wheat aroma. I smell this aroma ALOT in lesser quebec micro brews that attempt this style. There is some lemon, but its mixed with a sour grassy note. Flavor is wattery, and a touch sour with some odd wheat, and lemon flavor. Overall this is not great. It actually kinda tastes like a lager with crappy lemon flavoring added. And this is also odd, the beer store has this beer listed as a lager on it’s website.

bottle.
slightly cloudy, very minimal citrus aroma, with some light yeastiness. Flavour and body are quite wattery, not much in the flavour other than a tinge of citrus. Meh, pretty poor.

I was usbject to one of these at a family gathering. While i’m pouring out a Fullers London Porter at the table. My uncle comes over..... " what in the world is that?!" I explain its one of the very best porters out there. He tries it and needless to say, tells me it’s garbage, and to try a really tasty, REAL beer. So i’m handed a bottle of PC Honey Red. Oh boy!!! My dreams have some true, never find trying to find that elusive bottle of barrel aged Angles Share! I know now PC HONEY RED!!!

All joking aside......this was awful stuff. I drank it from the bottle, cause as soon as i went for a glass my uncle yelled some derogatory comment about beer from a glass so, and how i wasn’t a "man", so i slammed it back in the bottle. Well from what i got, this was basically coors light with honey. Its sweet, but not in a good way, its terribly wattery, not much going on other than a sickly sweetness in the back of my throat. i just slammed it back, and ran for my London Porter, and then hid from my uncle.

considering this is a Pils made by Brick Brewery, i have to admit its decent. a well made pils. no point in really going into detail we all know what a good pils is like. Its a run of the mill pils, but its well made and you can tatse it.

a buck a beer!
Well i’m not getting my hopes up for this one. Bottle was handed to me by my mothers boyfriend at a BBQ at his place.
Well, typical macro lager smell, vegggies, corny, and pale malts. Flavour is again your typical macro lager. Not much flavour at all, but what you do get it cooked vegetables, and cheaps grains. Blech, will not have again.

Ha! good old redcap!
I remember having this when it was brewed by Carling. Just a plain old crappy golden ale. Nothing fancy, just a lawnmower beer.

very very sweet, way too sweet.
it was like taking a macro pale lager and dumping in whack of sugar water. very thin, not enjoyable at all.
