Description
We’ve always relied on our wits to give us an edge. We tried things others wouldn’t and refused to let being smaller keep us from thinking big. To become masters of our craft, we had to be pretty darned crafty. This spirit is at the heart of everything we do—and in every drop we brew.

Bottle: Poured a light yellow ale with a thin white bubbly head that’s disappearing way too fast. I can already smell skunk has a poured the beer. The taste is quite weak with a mix of light malt and a weak creamy feeling. This is truly a bad beer (could be a bad bottle but what do people expect with clear bottle!!!).

Bottle: Poured a clear golden colored beer with almost no head or carbonation. Aroma is quite skunky, which surprised me since I pick what I thought, was a fresh batch. Aroma is quite weak as expected. Taste is also quite weak with limited malt and again that skunky feel coming out. Still a mystery why they bother using a clear bottle.

Bottle: Poured a light yellow beer with no head or aroma or even taste. I don’t really know what to say about this one that wasn’t said before. It’s not beer but more like water with some beer tasting products included. This is a trend that will last for a year before disappearing, which should be a good thing really.

Ah, my first opportunity to sample a beer from the aquirerers of the legendary Unibroue. I was presented with 12 oz clear bottle. Hey where is the label? WTF? Distressed I determined never the less to partake of this most inexpensive brew. It pours a clear orange-gold color with a small white head. The odor is skunky and vaguely revolting. The flavor hardly improves upon this impression. It is smooth and creamy in texture but the flavor is a god awful skunky sour tang. I poured this down the drain without a bit of guilt. Disgusting! My heavens this is the destiny of Unibroue???

Swillfest ’04: It is clear, with barely any yellow at all. Slighty grassy, metallic aroma. Very wet and artificial-tasting, like the added icing sugar after pasteurization to beef up the body. It’s like creamy water with the aftertaste of peanuts.

Swillfest ’04: Pale colour. Malty, bready aroma with a hint of lime. Vaguely malty palate, a little wet. Relatively clean.

2004 bottle. Pours a clear pencil-yellow. Small white head and quite bubbly. Aroma of sweet corn syrup. Flavor was surprisingly not disgusting and I was able to finish this one quite easily. It actually does have a soft creamy texture and is not sickeningly sweet. Hops are apparent, another surprise. Light, but apparent. Pretty decent for a cream ale, of course, having only Genny Cream ale to judge by, anything would taste better. 5/2/7/3/13
2005 draught at Mondial, 6/4/05. Golden and clear, white bubbly head recedes to cover. Smells and tastes like metal. Bitter something, light unripened nectarines comes to mind, but that’s an insult to nectarines. No sweetness. Corn in the aroma? No lacing, lots of metal on the end. Very watery, bad. 3/2/3/2/6

This Dark poured a nice dark red colour with a light tan creamy head. Metallic malt scents with a little caramel. First taste was very easy going. Roasted malts with a little brown sugar. Finish was slightly bitter with not much lingering. The bitterness was the only taste left.

This one pours a light yellow colour with not much of a brite white head. Smells really bland.Slight scent of hops and malt. First taste wasn't too bad with a watery/hoppy taste. Finish was smooth due to the watery flavour and ended slightly bitter. Alright...I guess?!

Pours a dark brown with a white head. Roasted malts and citrus with a little toffee scents. First taste had more roasted malts with a slight coffee flavour. Slightly sweet but really smooth. Great amount of roasted flavour even if it is a little watery. Palate was clean and it left behind only a nice roasted flavour. Very good!
