Description
We’ve always relied on our wits to give us an edge. We tried things others wouldn’t and refused to let being smaller keep us from thinking big. To become masters of our craft, we had to be pretty darned crafty. This spirit is at the heart of everything we do—and in every drop we brew.

Light amber, small white head. Lightlyly malty beery nose.Somewhat antiseptic light hop profile.Medium length, late arriving hop finish. Not good, but certainly the best effort from this poor brewery.

Goden ale with a thcik off white head, resilient and lasting. Upon opening this wonder, putrid skunk comes out. Faint malts and light hops come out in glass. In mouth, clean caramel malt with very faint hops, and notes of formaldehyde comming in retro-olfaction. Sad IPA.

Pour is a light orange with a large white head. Aroma floral and pine. Flavor is hoppy with enough malt to round out the balance. About avreage in all qualities for an IPA but worth a try.

Not bad. Black, and a light malt aroma. Flavor is lightly roasted malt and burned popcorn. There is a good-sized head, and medium body.

24 oz can shared with Muzzlehatch and tiggmtl on 11/5/05. Small, rapidly dissipating white head atop an amber-yellow, fizzy, clear body with no lacing. Aroma of fresh, succulent corn syrup, creamed corn, candy corns, rock candy and table sugar, and stale grains, and alcohol, but actually not all that strong. Most of it is reserved for the flavor which begins with stale grains, alcohol and spoiled corn, while a syrupy, artificial candied sweetness builds up. Pretty much if you took a jar of maraschino cherries, took out all of the cherries and reduced the liquid to about half its original volume and then added that to the beer, that would be the flavor. A very candy-sweet, fake, syrupy, cloying flavor. Carbonation is high, but not as sharp as I might have expected while the mouthfeel is slick and syrupy with a fair amount of alcohol apparency and a light metallic note on the end.

Bottle: Poured a pale golden color lager with a very small amount of head and not much retention. Aroma of… well not much aroma except maybe a bit of corn. Taste is bland with again some hint of corn, some sweetness and absolutely no aftertaste. Another bland offering from this great (yeah) Canadian brewer.

Bottled reads "Limited Edition 2004" , I found this in a small bottle shop/grocery near the Dieu du Ciel in Montreal. Large creamy head of off-white over a brown body with red highlights. Lots of caramel malt flavor and aroma but not really much depth or complexity. Drinkable, but just a bit below average.

Ah hell yeah, hook me up with the latest and greatest from the mightly Sleeman factory. In between batches of Bull Max, Canada’s finest "craft" brewers churn out some more industrial swill. Billed as having a cold, refreshing taste I thought perhaps they’d invented a self-cooling can and made a Rodenbach clone. And added a little CO2 tank to the side of the can and a tiny spigot on the top, because of course this is supposed to be draught beer. But alas, the can was plenty warm and not at all draught beer. Kind of hard to have a cold taste, well physiologically its impossible but you’d need a self-cooling can to at least have a shot at it. Refreshing, not so much. I drink a lot of water when it’s hot and this cannot match water, nor iced tea, nor the aforementioned Rodenbach. You see, sweet fizzy things aren’t refreshing, be they cola or macrobrew. It actually started off fairly clean, but as it warmed up a bit (robbing me of whatever opportunity I may have had to find that elusive taste called "cold") I noticed some vegetal notes. Bleh. I wish I could say more about the beer, but the beer didn’t tell me that much about itself. Maybe it’s shy, or maybe it’s just that shallow.
