Description

Since 22 december 2020 owned completely by Huttenkloas where also all the beers are brewed.

300ml bottle. Quasi black colour with average to huge, thick, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, tan head. Chocolately and slighly smoky dark malty aroma, a nuttily touch, hints of liquorice and coffee. Taste is dry, bitter, roasty dark malty, (burnt) coffee notes. Not overly rich for an Impy Stout, relatively light body

Bottle from Mitra Bunnik, BB 06 2015, large sample, served in a tulip glass. Clear golden to orange color, big frothy off-white head. Aroma of citrussy and grassy hop. slight spicy yeast, pineapple, tannines from the malt (what else from Sallandse). Quite dry in taste, bit metallic, slight bitter, bit sweet, pineapple. Way too dry and way too much carbonation. Sparkling, but not crisp. The carbonation in combination with the bitterness gives it a sharp feel. American bitterhops together with saison yeast and dryness aint a winner.

Bottle from ABC Beers, Den Haag. Poured a clear medium amber with a frothy white head, some broken lace and a few bubbles. The aroma is yeast, zesty citrus, The flavour is medium to light bitter with a light grass, nettle hop palate and a floral hop bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Loved the aroma but the floral nature of the finish did not agree with me.
