Description

Since 22 december 2020 owned completely by Huttenkloas where also all the beers are brewed.

Draft at De Paas, Den Haag. Poured a almost black in colour with a big frothy off-white head. The aroma is roasty malt, chocolate, red berry fruits. The flavour is moderate sweet, light liqourice bitter, with a smooth, rich, slightly oily, roasty, liqourice, chocolate, tart red berry fruit, light warm boozy alcohol bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.

3/VII/22 - 33cl bottle @ Abeels’ place, BB: V/2023 (2022-850) Thanks to the Abeels for sharing the beer!

Clear blond to light orange beer, big aery to creamy white head, stable, a bit adhesive. Aroma: malty, grains, hay, cow fodder... Where’s my hops? MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: soapy start, a little fruity, malty character, little bitter, dry, a bit chemical, not very nice. Aftertaste: more bitterness, malty, fruity touch, a bit sweet, ok but not really good.

Light haze on this gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Nose is a little champagne like with some mild esters thrown in. Palate is light, fairly dry and has a sharp minerally crispness. Light pale malts provide a reasonable sweetness. Then it's a thin champagne vibe with some esters, largely following on from the nose. A light pear note and some quite subtle floral fruits before a light crisp finish. Good stuff. I don't know why brewers don't experiment more with this kind of thing.

Bottle. Color: Clear copper to brownish amber, yellowish beige head. Aroma: Malty, caramel and dark malt, hints of apple. Taste: Dark malt, caramel malt, a little stale, hints of apple peel. Moderate sweet. Light bitterness. Mwah. Not my kind of Dubbel, the Apple Syrup adds nothing positive in my opinion.
