Bottle Clear, amber body. Refined aroma of fine malts, citrus, ... Moderately sweet, lightly bitter initial flavour. Moderately bitter finish. Quite malty. Nicely balance between the hops and the malts. Very lovely!

Clear gold with good, white head, fed by lively carbonation, leaving some lace. Bready, even fresh, wet dough; further some blossomy aroma’s like muguet. But the dough wins out. Dry, bready taste, the typical Bock (parsley flavoured) character, but finally without all the superfluous sweetness. Some greenery, near grassy in the finish. In fact, I think all sweetness still traceable is from the alcohol. Medium bodied. Alcohol obvious. No new aftertaste, but the (mild) grassiness goes on for a long time. Very good Bock. Uncharacteristic, but all the better for it.

Draught as "Weizen". Citric aroma, some banana. Cloudy golden colour, big stable creamy white head. The flavour starts off a bit weak, turning citric. Wheaty mouthfeel. High carbonation, but tolerable.

Draught. Almost totally black colour. Big, stable light brown head. Malty aroma with a hint of sweet liquorice. Very roasted flavour with a little malt bitterness making it almost Irish stoutish. Hint of smoke. The mouthfeel is not as thin as most Schwarzbiers. Mild, but prickly carbonation. Not a typical Schwarzbier, but better.

Draught. Malty aroma. Clear dark grey/copper colour, big stable white head. The flavour is malty with a late sort of English liquorice aftertaste. Very drinkable. Described as a Märzen by the barman.

(draught at the Klosterbräu, Bamberg, while watching the FIFA world cup match Mexico vs. Angola on a big screen in the Zehnthaus-Gewölbekeller) Clear, golden coloured, heavily effervescent hue with a stable and firm, slightly yellow foam. Not very intense but aromatic sweet malty aroma with honey and herbal, resiny hops. Sweet flavour, medium body and smooth carbonation. Initially sweet malty, slightly fruity taste with honey; sweet and soft malty, later light-bitter finish with a touch of herbal hops. Sweet Bock, but surely a goodie, also not to be overrated (16.06.2006).
