Description
Temporal Artisan Ales is a brewing project that is crafting delicate oak-aged beers in a shared space at Luppolo Brewing Company in Vancouver, BC. The beers we create are fermented 100% in our oak barrels over lengthy periods of time, imparting delicate complexity. Portions of separate barrels are blended to enhance specific characteristics unique to each barrel. Every beer we release has been meticulously crafted from start to finish.

750mL bottle, pours a cloudy bright orange with a tiny, quickly-dissipating white head. Nose is very harsh, tickling the nose hairs with a touch of phenols, vinegar, and very sour apricots. Flavour is very tart, with intensely sour apricots, some phenols, and high acidity. It's really harsh, becoming difficult to drink in high quantities.

375mL bottle, pours a clear copper amber with a small white head. Aroma brings out tart, bright raspberries, and a touch of oak wine. Flavour is very tart, with faded sour raspberries, moderate-high acidity, and a little vinous character. The berries seem pretty faded and laid back. Not a complex beer and the fruit is underwhelming. Simple and lacking depth. Okay.

750mL bottle, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma is rather laid back, with subdued earthy tea leaves upfront, and a little oak. Flavour is very tart, with sharp, tart citrusy notes, subdued earthy tea leaves, and a little leather. The tea actually mixed well with the sharp, tart citrus. The earthiness from the tea cuts down on the sharp citrus and tartness nicely, though the acidity is still felt in the back of the throat. Interesting brew.

750mL bottle, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of lemon zest, light lime, and gentle oak barrels. Flavour is very tart, with intense citrus, lemon zest, sharp acidity, and a little oak. Too sharply acidic but not too off-putting. Carbonation is high but fitting.

Gorgeous orange-pink colour. Fine effervescence, drops beautifully bright. The berry aroma is bold and bright. On the palate, very tart. The berry character is still there, but it's under a big lacto blast. That tartness is a bit too much, and it's a shame because the fruit is wonderful.

375mL bottle, pours an opaque vibrant ruby red with some pinkish tones and a touch of head. Aroma is quite strong on the acetone, with perfume, tart cherries, and a bit of oak. Flavour is jammy, with lots of tart jammy cherries, moderate acetone, a little perfume, and some oak. Not getting any brandy barrel. The acetone becomes a bit much after a while. Pleasant beer somewhere underneath but this is quite flawed. Too acetic.

750mL bottle, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out gentle tequila barrels, gentle oak, a bunch of bugs. Flavour is sharp and acidic, with plenty of citrus, a touch of tequila, and a sort of saltiness. Carbonation is on the higher side. Not a whole lot of complexity. Sharp, moderate-high acidity, and lively mouthfeel. Decent.

750mL bottle, pours a clear ruby red with a tiny white head. Nose brings out deep red grapes, some grape must, red wine barrels, and a touch of oak. Flavour is soft yet rich, with loads of deep red grapes, light oak, lots of red wine, and a little alcohol. Really lovely blend. The grapes are expressed beautifully and the barrels are appropriately dominant. There's a musty, slightly tannic grape skin character that is felt more and more. The higher ABV is only slightly felt. Essentially flat carbonation that is fitting. Excellent.

750mL bottle, pours a hazy bright red with a small beige head. Aroma explodes with loads of mixed berries, tons of tonka beans, a little vanilla, and red wine barrels. Flavour is wonderfully deep and elegant, with a great blend of mixed red berries, lots of tonka beans, red wine barrels, some tannins, and oak. Really fruity and expressive on the tonka. Almost flat carbonation but that works beautifully to allow all the flavours to express. Excellent.

Pours a muddy peach with minimal foam, smells like a tart apple pie with plenty of cinnamon and soft pastry hints. Flavour is slightly ethereal apricot, soft sourness, lingering cinnamon. Reasonable acidity. An excellent blend, good sourness, though cinnamon is a little heavy.
