Description
Temporal Artisan Ales is a brewing project that is crafting delicate oak-aged beers in a shared space at Luppolo Brewing Company in Vancouver, BC. The beers we create are fermented 100% in our oak barrels over lengthy periods of time, imparting delicate complexity. Portions of separate barrels are blended to enhance specific characteristics unique to each barrel. Every beer we release has been meticulously crafted from start to finish.

2019-01-26, bottle, 7-4-7-2-14=33 Cloudy dark blond colour. The aroma is perfumy, almost vanilla; strong 'wild' yeast character, barrel, some fruit. Very sour, sharp, lightly fruity, sour apricot. It's a bit better than the time I had in on tap, but once again the acidity is unbalanced, excessive, and there is not much complexity. 2019-01-16, draught at Luppolo, Vancouver, 6-4-6-2-11=29 Hazy blond colour. Moderate notes of acetic acid in the aroma, that get stronger in the flavour; moderate aroma of wine barrels; very light aroma of fruit stones; light flavour of sour (green) apricots; hint of acetone in the finish. Puckery, unbalanced, too sour and without enough complexity to make up for.

Bottle, purchased at Luppolo. Dullish tan, and hazy. Thin head. I'm pulling a bit of brett C on the nose, along with some bourbon elements, and almost a coffee-ish note. Again, coffee up front, then tartness, woody barrel, vanilla, and a brett C note. Some sort of hard cheese. This is a really crazy blend, with unique elements you don't often get in this type of beer. In truth, those darker coffee elements (described as chocolate on the label) might have been better served in a dark blend, but ok.

Tasting at Matt's
Cloudy blond colour. The aroma is very fruity, stone fruits, quite evident manure too. Aggressive acidity, but also smooth; it has a good fruity character, light botanical note that can be the tequila, astringent and sour finish.
There are some interesting elements, but it's also dominated by the acid.

750mL bottle, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma is fairly subtle on the tequila, with only a touch of the barrels, a little wild yeast, and gentle acidity. Flavour is fairly intense, with lots of tequila barrels, intense citric notes, and sour fruits. Somewhat enamel-stripping, but it works alright. Lacking the depth and complexity of some other Temporal offerings, but it's cohesive and balanced. Good stuff.

Bottle at Weathered, pours a bright pinkish red with a small white head. Aroma brings out bright red berries, with light wild yeast, and oak. Flavour is wonderfully fruity, with potent red berries, light oak, and wild yeast. Wonderfully potent and fresh. This is lovely.
