Handpull cask at the Wild Boar, Warwick. Brownish gold, clear with a small off-white head. Grainy and slightly metallic aroma, with notes of toffee and persimmon. Taste is sweet, although not overly so; big notes of toffee offset by a slightly spicy character. Bitter orange comes in for the finish. Light body, soft carbonation. It's okay, not particularly exciting but certainly competent.

Golden/orange pour, almost clear with a small white head. Aroma is quite weak: orange/marmalade, malt, grain/bread. Taste is orange/marmalade, malt, grain/bread again plus some herbs for a nice bitter finish. OK, but not mindblowing.

Handpull cask at the Queens Road Tap, Leicester. Caramel brown and clear with a small beige head. Light toffee aroma, some woody notes, maybe a touch of turps. Satisfyingly bitter in the mouth. Oaky notes among the toffee. Hoppy bitter finish. Light body, soft carbonation. An abive average bitter for sure.

Cask at The Case is Altered, Warwick. Poured a clear dark reddish brown colour with a mostly lasting frothy off-white head. The aroma is roasty malt, light toffee. The flavour is moderate to light sweet, with a smooth, rich, roasty, light toffee caramel, earthy, liquorice bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Gravity fed third of a pint, Bridgnorth CAMRA Beer Festival, 8th September 2023. Golden/amber body, clean and clear; white crown. Nice UK hop feel to this, no citrus fruits were harmed making this!
